Game Thread Spurs (6-2) vs Pelicans (2-6) (Sat 11/08/25) [7:00PM CDT]

Allowing yet another average SF to go for a career game, should be yet another message for mitch to stop playing retarded lineups with fairytales like "this guy can guard 1 to 5" and instead have forwards guard forwards. And no, Barnes doesn't count.

A win is a win, but damn… Wemby’s shooting has been a disaster so far this season and it’s killing us. Dude’s been the most inefficient of chuckers.

The Rockets and the Lakers look like the only big competition so far, but credit our guys for winning the games they’re supposed to. If we’re being honest, no games have been “supposed to win” since LMA and Derozan (even then there weren’t many).

i did not see bad body language. he missed a three and pumped his fist immediately afterwards as castle got the offensive rebound … also we should stop expecting that his body is already strong enough to battle on the inside on offense and defense for 30+ minutes a night. this is still a young player with body mechanics never seen in the nba.

lol at the "trade Fox" crowd :st-lol:...Yeah pump the brakes on that: We need a reliable, steady-hand closer. turnover-machine 21 yo Castle, 19 yo made-of-glass Harper, and softie and disengaged Wemby are not there yet..

Wemby should be in the paint on damn near every play. Just score.
The season just started.Dont wanna run him down to early my guy.Teams have been rough with him
everytime he gets in the paint.

At the end, Queen was jawing with Castle going to the line and Steph smirked and pointed to where he should go line up on the key. They seem cool though after the game, but it was funny.

It was good to see Wemby getting oops, but his jumpshot has been a technical turnover lately.

Honestly feels like he's regressed a bit from last season tbh (that first game notwithstanding). That said, only 9 games into the season and his form still looks good.

Only caught the 4th and it looked ugly. Fox hit the clincher but didn’t seem like there was any cohesion at all.

Also the no-center lineup was catastrophic

I liked Queen in the draft. He's a really skilled player. Giving up that pick without protections is wild.
In my original mock i had him going #5 to wizards. I think he’s quite good. But yes that trade was very shortsighted

You coulda fooled me.

I'm really interested to see what the playoff rotation will be like once the team is healthy. It looks like our starting lineup might be set, but who will actually get minutes off the bench come playoff time? Harper certainly will, as will Kornet. So does that mean we're going with a 10-man rotation for the playoffs?

So nice to have a coach that doesn't treat 20 yesr Olds like they are 30+ for once. I'm not completely sold on Mitch but I'm happy he's letting his players play

He is 21 years old. LeBron was playing 40 minutes a game at that age. Wemby has scored 9, 19, 22, and 18 the last 4 games, after dropping 40, 29, 31, 24, 27 the first 5.

We just played a trash team at home. If he doesn't get his head out of his ass, we will get destroyed by .500 and above teams on the road.

We'll, let me backtrack, we will do better by default now that Fox is back, but still, this isn't going to cut it from Wemby on the road against .500 and above squads.

Love seeing 🏰 cutting down on those TO’s and hitting those FT’s. His passing this game was outstanding. I thought even though he could not make a three to save his life, most of them were good looks. If he can ever get to a 36-38% on threes, he will be unstoppable.

Fox was outstanding tonight. And once him & Vic get used to playing off each, it will be scary.

I laughed my ass off at seeing an Al take on the Spurs thread from dbestpro. Quality of basketball discussion you’ll get there at this point.
