Game Thread Spurs (5-1) @ Lakers (6-2) (Wed 11/05/25) [9:00PM CDT] on ESPN

If Harper can elevate his game to superstar status I have absolutely no problem with Vic just anchoring the D and contributing 12 to 15 points a night being a floor spacer and a lob threat.
I'm this close to giving up on him being the prospect with GOAT potential that we all hyped him to be.
Hahaha, I love posts like these. Hilarious.

Udoka is gonna put Amen on Wemby next game, should be another opportunity for him to prove himself against that type of coverage tbh.

What is up with fox's injury anyway? He seems to be out for an awful long time for something that's not reported as something major.

dont care honestly. offense was a slog with or without him and he at least put his head down and got us points in the 3rd when we took our biggest lead. and he defended his ass off all game. he was very clearly giving Luka fits
the first half was far uglier, 2nd half was okish except a 3 minute stretch

I don’t like this take. All 3 played well. Within themselves. The problem is we have an impactful backup center out and our primary ballhandler and likely leading if not secondary scorer out.

Castle had 6 turnovers that likely wouldn’t exist if Fox played.

This ultra cautious holding of players out needs to come to an end. Wemby is clearly suffering from a lack of an on ball scoring threat and primary ball handler.
I just highly dislike these 3 players, to stay measured, bc it's just basketball.

They're at best one trick pony and the core of 3 tanking seasons. It does impact players, habits or characters.

They're losers that keep costing with their low IQs and countless limitations, they can't even make a simple entry pass without 90% chance of TOs.

Even for they own sake, they need a new environment.

You can't build with them and Wemby needs higher IQ and competitive characters to have a hope of making him elite.

This game had all the greatest hits:
  • Castle turnovers
  • Wemby in the paint with a smaller defender on him but his team says nah to the entry pass
  • Wemby instead getting the ball at the 3 pt line and initiates no offense
  • Wemby finally getting the ball with a smaller defender on him and proceeds to take an off balance fadeaway
  • The team watching Wemby get doubled and just continue standing there watching
  • Olynyk doing his best Biyombo impression

the TV crew did kinda call smart out on his offensive foul drawing stuff. he plays extremely physical and shoves and fights and the second you put up resistance he goes down
I should have watched on ESPN just to escape Beadle in the first half. Forgot they had the game too.

Dear people that are crying about Castle you guys are stupid sorry he is not a PG he is forced into a role and that will not magically make him a great PG sorry he is going to have a higher turn over ratio if he is forced into the primary ball handler. You guys are crazy crying about that yes he made some bad passes s but maybe the teams need to quit having kitten gloves and let Fox play so Castle can be in the role as a secondary ball handler.

Crying about a non PG having to play PG and he is going to have a higher turn over margin. Dude is busting his arse on both sides of the ball doing what the coaches ask. Until Fox starts playing this offense is going to have rough times ahead. Harper is going to probably be a month away so can not even use him.

Wemby should humble himself a bit for sure. The confidence is fine to an extent but when you’re loling at other teams like Houston because they didn’t land you in the draft and then making comments like “me getting dunked on more than getting blocks won’t happen in this lifetime” and then following it up with frankly this small dick energy, we would be laughing at him if he was on another team. Way too high on himself and he needs to work on his flaws first before talking himself up so much.

I’m not even upset at the loss. I knew even with Reaves out, we would still fall short. But it’s just frustrating seeing our best player get flustered over every obstacle. We really need Fox back, man.
He needs to have a long sitdown with Timmy to learn something or two about how counterproductive shit-talking and hubris is and that it is best to let your game do the talking for you..He said that statement and proceeded to lay an egg in two consecutive games

This is when the organization cheapening out and keeping the inexpensive Mitch Johnson hurts. We need a vet coach who can bring structure to Wembys game and actually knows what he's doing out there.

Wemby still has to develop the ability to play out of double teams. It's part of his development he hasn't gotten yet, but that also includes his teammates need to learn how to properly space for him and anticipate tbe double. Too much crowding, too much hesitation. It takes time to get it down.

Even Doncic, as long as he's been in the league, struggles with double teams at times.

But this talk of Wemby just being a 12 pt a game role player is just flat out retarded, and any of you jokers saying dumb shit like that need to check yourself. It's an overreaction so insanely stupid It's almost incomprehensible.

Becky deserved the head-coaching spot over Mitch, IMHO.

getting blasted by houston then losing to the zion-less pelicans on a home back-to-back would make for a cinematic forum experience if nothing else :st-lol:

a well/poorly-timed "the spurs have traded victor wembanyama and their 2031 first-round pick swap from the sacramento kings to the dallas mavericks for anthony davis" spoof tweet on saturday night might error 404 the site tbh

Barnes screwed up so many plays man..
For sure, but I put that more on his tired legs than his brain and it's not like it's every game, everybody sucked today on both teams (so did the refs).

He's reliable in a limited role but has to do too much vs much more physical players.

He's a savvy veterans that i'm sure can teach a lot of things to Harper and was maybe more important than Cp3 (who kinda slowed down the team) last season.

And luke...

Alot of castle turnovers were just careless and lazy.No excuse for that.

Just like I said in an earlier reply.. you have to realize that Castle has always been saying he WANTS to play point guard. I’ve watched his interviews, I watched him work out this summer on videos and I heard him say it to his development coach. Thats the position he thinks of himself as.. technically he’s not being forced to play PG because this is what he wanted. It just turns out that he’s not good enough at it.

I fully expect us to get curbstomped by Houston for thefirst real meltdown/crisis situation in the Mitch era...

Hopefully they fire his ass and hire a real coach like Jenkins. Boy does Ja look like shit without him.

If u re-watched the game, there are so many plays he missed the 3-point shot at the corners.. I know as a fact, he wasn't covering enough grounds.. Castle, though everyone may fault him for his TOs, has played solid defense on Doncic.

They can put reed Sheppard on him and it would still be the same result, tbh.
