If you're referring to my comment on Fox, it's got nothing to do with last night's game. There's multiple reasons I mentioned it. First, I was sick of seeing the disrespect around here. Only a few posters (including myself) have stuck up for him (I've been saying he's going to be awesome for the team when he's fully healthy and back - hopefully that is soon). There's countless posts saying the Spurs should trade him anywhere from next year, 2 years, 3 years etc. before he's even played a game this season. That is disgusting and quite frankly, it's pissing me off. I'm going to start looking out for Fox because it's quite apparent many fans don't give a shit about him or respect that he wanted to be on the Spurs.
Exstatic is one of the posters (there is a few others) being realistic about it that they might have to trade him down the line, but not right away like some here are clamouring for. It's had to be mentioned numerous time on ST that De'Aaron asked to be traded here and the Spurs would never just trade him in a year or so after he forced his way to San Antonio. The Spurs FO makes some dumb decisions sometimes, but they wouldn't do this and blow their chances with future free agents.
Now, the reason I mentioned De'Aaron might ask for a trade is because I saw someone bring up on a podcast or another discussion (can't remember where) that he wanted to go to the Spurs because he wanted to get off of the Kings due to them not looking like they will be a contender and that they were heading in the wrong direction. It was mentioned that (and I somewhat agree) the Spurs aren't really a contender right now and that maybe De'Aaron would be better off on a team like Houston (just an example) that can contend now. If the Spurs don't get it together in a year or two, it's not unreasonable that De'Aaron might not want to waste his prime on a team that isn't a true/legit championship contender. He's not old, but he is older than the young core the Spurs have and it was mentioned that he might be better suited (timeline wise) on a team that can contend now. I thought it was an interesting perspective and I don't know De'Aaron's mindset and how badly he wants a chance to play for a Championship, so that is why I said he might want to get traded at some point if the Spurs aren't contending.
