6 rings is going to be a little bit tough lol. That’s the problem with the media and even certain fans not saying you personally. But they think that winning these championships is all about the individual player. About 25 different things have to lineup perfectly to make it happen. Look at Timmy. Manu and Tony were both unheralded draft picks. That worked out perfectly. For Jordan Pippen was the perfect robin to his Batman because of his skill set. He wasn’t some ball dominant guard that needed to shoot all the time.

Robert Horry pretty much just said something similar on Run It Back. They put up a graphic with all of TD's major accomplishments, and he said that Victor could surpass everything TD has done except maybe the Championships. He said that it's very hard to win and it takes a team (you really have to have a good team around you and for things to go right - can't remember exactly what he said), not just one player (of course most of us know this, but interesting to hear him say it).

The amazing about Duncan isn’t that he won five championships, it’s that he was the main guy for the championships on very different teams.

The 99 team was different from the 03 team, and those were different from the 05/07 teams, which were totally different from the 14 team. The 08-11 teams and the 12-13 teams were another two title contenders that are different from all those title teams. Duncan’s versatility is what’s so amazing.

Wemby’s attitude is fantastic though. I was so impressed when he fouled out of the game against New Orleans. No diva bullshit, no going off on the refs or having an overly emotional reaction like it’s all about himself. He goes right to the bench and starts cheering his teammates on in the overtime. That’s a winning mentality.

Yeah wemby is a different beast.

With Duncan you know he works his tail off to win, but at the same time he doesn’t really seem to care about his own glory. It almost doesn’t make sense because these top tier athletes must have some ego.

With wemby you know he puts wining first but at the same time you also know that he wants to go out and dominate and show that he is the best of the best, that he is the top dog. I’m not sure if he’s putting one over the other but it may be the best of both world. Just different vibes for these two absolutely generational talents.
