Game Thread Spurs (3-0) vs Raptors (1-2) (Mon 10/27/25) [7:00 PM CDT]

He might be worst than Zollins tbh. At least Zollins can throw some nice passes from high pick n roll
He’s absolutely worse, Zollins had no presence and would just disappear. Bismack actively tanks offensive possessions because he doesn’t understand how not to do a moving screen and he has broom sticks for hands so can’t catch a ball/rebound.

But lthe fact is ebron is in the goat conversation timmy is not.
Tim was one Ray Allen 3-point shot away from tying Jordan for 6-0 in the finals and then this would be a completely different conversation. Meanwhile LeBron only got 4 rings with one of them being the flukiest in NBA history.

Random thoughts

Mitch did a lot of things right, but not putting the ball in Victors hands during Raptors comeback was not one of them. Vic was trying to dance from the 3pt line - put him down low. Tell Castle to stop hogging the ball.

Remember when Victor could barely get a clutch rebound last year? I’ve been waiting 4 games to believe what my eyes are telling me, but damn he is much better at rebounding this year. His added strength is paying off in droves.

McLaughlin’s ball handling and distribution stood out. Towards the back half of the game he was literally just bringing the ball past mid court for Castle lol. I think we all might have missed how extremely valuable that was for us last night.

Hoping we see more of Bryant (11min) and less of Biyombo (14min) going forward. It’s a win-win, CB is just a better option at this point, and he could use the development. Size be damned.

Dylan is the truth. That is all.

What the hell is up with the lower bowl. It’s a joke, man. People getting nachos for the entire 3rd quarter and half the seats seemingly never filled to begin with.

Bottom 5 overall crowd energy, tbh. Maybe bottom 2-3. Whatever the reality is does not come through on the TV broadcast.

I don't want us to get carried away with this team just yet. Super great start no doubt about that, some easy wins with the biggest point differential in the league but also playing some of the worst teams in the NBA so far. Pelicans and Nets still winless and the Raptors and Mavs are just 1-4. We need to wait for the real tests and hope we can keep winning as the schedule starts to slowly get tougher. Hopefully having guys like Fox, Kornet and Sochan back can also give us a boost when the schedule does get more intense in the coming days/weeks.

An experienced team that has its system in order is going to smack us in the face at some point if Fox isn’t on the court. Getting a guy who isn’t fussed at all by getting blitzed unlocks a lot of stability in the half court. I could see us playing OKC tomorrow and losing by 30. But with Fox…this might be pretty sustainable

yes the schedule has been marshmallow-soft, and we almost blew the Pelicans and game, but it's given a chance for the team to gel, and the return of fox/Kornet/KellyO is only going to help with some of the key holes (turnovers from the PG position, more spacing & offense from the PF position)

We get carried away with hating the team, we might as well get carried away with loving it too. Highs and lows of a sports fan!

Yeah the Spurs have an easy schedule so far but it's nice just not being one of the worst teams in the league anymore like we were prior to last season. We aren't the gimmie games for most teams anymore.

This is what I mentioned the a couple of days ago. I think a great goal is holding teams to 25-27 points a quarter. Seems that the Spurs are doing that so far. Mostly due to Victor, though, and some Kornet too.

I don't understand why Dylan isn't bringing the ball up the court anytime he's on it. Why is he running to the corner and not the PG at least 90% of the time he's on the court? Is it that they're just trying to teach him to play off the ball for when Fox is back? If he's playing off the ball, he should shoot the ball a bit more.

I'm sick of seeing that. Those empty seats are pissing me off. If people don't turn up, can't they give those seats to other people (I know this isn't fair as they're paid for, but there shouldn't be empty seats that close to the court)? If they're still empty by half time, can't the give them to random fans outside the arena. Spurs don't deserve to have the team if the seats are going to be empty all the time. I don't care who bought them. If you don't show up, give the tickets to someone else.

I think those first three teams all tried very hard to get a win, but they all went into a slide after losing to the Spurs. Dallas was projected to be good, NO tried their asses off. Nets were projected to be bad, but they played hard in the second half. Raptors were playing good, but Spurs outplayed them. I'm not saying the Spurs are a top team yet, but maybe they're a bit better than we're giving them credit for.

Truth is that if Wemby was in Toronto or Indiana or Utah or LA or New York or most cities in the league, his highlight packages would be a whole other thing. Currently it’s a bunch of things never done in human history with a smattering of 9 year olds and moms politely clapping. It’s such a waste, man.

We're missing our by far the second best player and Wemby's backup that makes the team functional when he's not on the floor.
And yet these two wins were fairly convincing.

Heat will be the real test, if Kornet isn't back, it's going to be really difficult.

Our issues on offense when teams are making a surge are pretty limited to young guards struggling with blitzes. Fox isn’t going to sweat a full court press from Brooklyn. This is going to look a lot different when he’s back.

Pretty sure Victor does.

of course but last night that was not his priority, he could have gone full enrique but he took what the opponents gave him without forcing too much except some TOs in second half. I actually liked a lot his game against the raptors, in first half he was letting the hot shooting going but was agressive when the team needed him to be. No homo but I'm in love with our generational talent.

Miami and Phoenix are both winnable games. Hopefully, someone.....anyone... is back by Thursday. Wemby might take the Ware matchup personally this time. If so, look out. No telling how the cookie crumbles w/out Rozier. My main hope is we are close to full strength by the time we play Houston and make that a statement game.
