GSG!

Mods, I put OKC’s current record in the title, but they have a game tomorrow night. Please update their record in the title once the results are in on that game.

If Wemby is travelling to France for his grandma funeral, i doubt he plays in the first Thunder game. Jetlag alone will be hard to recover from with such a short turnaround. Probably joins the team in Oklahoma on Christmas eve.

thats probably how it works out. then we lose both games to OKC ...

to be clear, this is entirely speculation and you'd think we would have heard something postgame about him not being available for a few days.

with that said, when there were about 30 seconds left in the game, cameras did show wemby heading out to the tunnel by himself, didnt stick around. wemby spoke postgame after the hawks game on friday, so its not like he has been unavailable for interview in general.

technically a quick back and forth works time wise, it's just a stressful travel. When this game ended it was about 3:30 AM here. He could be in Paris by 11-12. Then fly back from Paris at 11 AM tomorrow and be in San Antonio by 11-12 because of the time difference.

if I were Mitch I would DNP him anyway ...

Sure such a trip would be stressful however these guys are used to be in the plane every other day, it's not like it's completely out of the ordinary for him.

It's not just the physical impacts of a flight... He's not coming back from a visa renewal or something, the the emotional aspect of it too, which could take a toll on whether Wemby is ok to go.

OKC plays the Grizzlies today, so they will be on a back to back. Hopefully Wemby is ready to go.

Yeah I’m ok if he misses both okc games to spend time with his family. Just decency. Who knows, maybe cousin Chet will dnp to spend time with the Monster family.

I begrudgingly agree, there's more to life than basketball.

With that said would really love to see him play Xmas day though

Hopefully Wemby plays in both games obv, but if he's flying back home to France for his grandmother's funeral then he def won't play in the first game at the very least and wouldn't be surprised if he missed both tbh. Or maybe he just didn't want to talk to the media last night. Time will tell.

At least the Rockets spotted us a game by losing to the shitty Kangz in OT last night tbh.

maybe wemby just prefers to - not have to answer personal questions and be reminded of his loss at this moment...therefore the media decision...
no one said anything about leaving the country....

give him time to process and if he feels like talking about his loss later then he will...

"def won't play"? Not so sure about that.
Life is bigger than basketball, sure, but I think the funeral also gives him a chance to get closure and move on from the loss.
We'll see.

How do those numbers get calculated? Bkref has the Spurs also at #6 in ORtg 119.1, #5 in DRtf 112.8, but #6 in Net Rtg +6.3 and #13 in pace 100.4.

Season long numbers are hard to take much away from since key pieces have missed so much time. Encouraging that the Spurs are playing this well in spite of that, though based on point differential they "should" be 19-9 right now. By that measure the Rockets "should" be 19-7 and the Lakers "should" be 14-13.
