Game Thread Spurs (18-7) vs Knicks (18-7) (Tue 12/16/25) [7:30PM CDT]

This loss blows since the Knicks are always a team I want the Spurs to beat. The reason for this is because my younger brother is a hardcore Knick fan. I watched the game with him and had to endure him rubbing it in. My comeback was well now I know how you felt in '99 granted I only feel 1/1000th of what you felt back then.

On the positive side the Spurs got some good experience from this game. The Knicks are a very resilient veteran team and brought their playoff intensity to this game. Hopefully the Spurs learned that you can't ever get comfortable in these high stakes type of games even when your up. Also little things like rebounding matters along with hustle. It's good for the Spurs to get exposed to this type of stuff.

The win vs Okc seems to have had the same effect on everybody than the 1st game of the season vs Dallas, I read people acting as if Spurs are contenders smh

A lot to learn from it for this young team... and coach

PS : We need wings ASAP

Let it be noted that I never said we should be undefeated and that this loss means we’re terrible. Simple minded way of twisting words just to start an argument smh. I’m confident this team will grow. All I’m saying is that we still have a ways to go. No lies in that.
Don't take it personally man, I'm just reading the room it wasn't about you specifically. Kind of weird to see a bunch of fans suggesting their their unprecedentedly improved 18-7 team needs to have their nuts checked over an exhibition game.

Yeah, absolutely. These are my thoughts that I've held back for a while now, but may as well say I've been thinking the same thing. Will the Spurs cut ties with any/all of them if it comes down to it?

I mean, I LOVE Sean, but I was saying weeks ago that I was sick of hearing it. His commentating was going down the toilet spamming that every game.
I feel like Sean Elliott spends more time snacking and waiting for Tim Duncan to text him than anything else this season

Who would you put out there in the PF spot? The Spurs needed to score, possibly by hitting threes. Who would you put out there?
right... which is why we were playing with harper and castle, notorious for their shooting...

Keldon no show. Great job Mr. 0%!!
Yeah, 3 oRebs in 16 minutes in a total no show. 3 pts on 3 shots is garbage, sample size doesn't matter. We lost cuz Keldon! Vic being straight bad and rushing/forcing everything doesn't matter.
Keldon is garbage!

It could have been better for Sochan, Olynyk, Carter, Waters, Bismack and Jordan. Still not too bad. They got to watch 2 games and nobody had to break a sweat. Leaving Vegas with a couple hundred grand in their pockets. I’d take that cash!

Keldon also barely played and his minutes were in short spurts. It's almost impossible to get in any sort of rhythm offensively that way.
The truth is that we have too many role players that do similar things and not enough role players that do certain other things.

Dylan is going to be a cornerstone of this franchise and a fixture on All-NBA teams. I'm so impressed how amazing he looks at age 19 playing the hardest position in the league.
My biggest takeaway after this game is that the franchise is safe even if Wemby turns out to be another Ralph Sampson.
Harper/Castle look like they could be a Harden/Butler duo and I'm not even over-exaggerating.

I'm still not buying these role players doing anything in a high level 7 game series.
Hope I'm wrong.
Were you on the ESPN boards during the '00s? I remember someone with your SN on those boards back in the day always fighting with Laker fans. I would also always join in on those fights.
