start Jeremy

If the refs are going to call ticky tack fouls, you might as well be physical about it. I say start Jeremy and make him be dirty around Shai for six fouls. I’m not even kidding. Get in their heads.
Thing about sochan is he hurts our offense. No point of having him out there if hes just gonna hurt our flow in the game.

Nah. That will just put them in the bonus early en route to SGA having 10 FTA in the 1st quarter while they shit all over our offense because they're playing 5 on 4 as Sochan fumbles passes, drives into the lane and picks up his dribble, bricks wide open shots, etc. it's not 2005 anymore, we can't be starting or playing guys just to spend 6 fouls

Think sas are still an unknown quantity, so it is hard to say what they can do.. they could match well, being faster than okc and have better rim protection, but they also get demolished out of space with the lack of size on the wings

The problem IMO is not ticky tack fouls…
The problem is calling ticky tack fouls on one team while allowing the other team to hack away

All we can ask is call em both ways fairly/equally

Keep it close and hope for a flukey close tbh. They haven't played a meaningful game in a while, maybe we catch them on an off night.

I'm giddy with anticipation for Saturday and I'll be locked in on the tandem play of Castle and Harper every time they are on the floor together. Something very good is about to bloom, I can feel it.

:st-flag:

maybe i still havent recalibrated my expectations enough, but all im asking is for a competitive game through the first 3.5 quarters

sochan will never play again for the spurs, i suggest people just drop it

I know it's not necessarily the best environment for Wemby's first game (would much prefer a tune-up with the Wiz at home), but he has a flair for the dramatic, so I am optimistic. I am very curious how the team will balance and adjust to having Wemby back on offense. Hoping for a win or at least a close game. As others have said, getting one win out of the next three with OKC would be great.

Perfect game for Wemby to return. He was damn near ready for the Lakers and all the coaches were incredibly optimistic. His injury wasn't as bad as the others, as he was walking just fine the game after the injury. The only thing I see him having issues with is getting tired. Won't be in game shape and will need to be subbed out when Fox does, at the 7:XX minute mark. That being said, his 2nd game back will be a sight to see.

Still remember how pissed I was when we made this pick. I wanted Josh Hines-Allen bad. I also remember Ferrell getting progressively worse each year he was a Raider. Meanwhile, Allen has gone to make multiple Pro-Bowls and is the all-time franchise leader in Sacks for the Jags lol. Good times.

Next to the Spurs my second big sports team is Bayern Munich. I've been a member for mor than35 years now (man, I'm getting old...) and it in our DNA not to give a fuck who we play. We are Bayern, we're gonna fuck you up. That's the mentality I hope these guys will develop.

Bayern seem more analogous to the Lakers than they do the Spurs. Big market, big budget, get's all the players.

Spurs have always more reminded me of my favorite Bundesliga team: BVB. Scrappy, homegrown, underdogs.

Just saw a tweet on Reddit from Shams saying Wemby is very likely back tomorrow. Bout fuckin time

part of that was Gruden's preference for the very traditional 4-3 positions. he wanted big defensive ends, and not the hybrid DE/Linebacker type edge rushers which Allen was. it was a pretty egregious scheme over talent pick and was pretty predictable. the sad thing is i liked Ferrell and was hoping we could have gotten him with one of our later first round picks lol.

i remember liking Montez Sweat a lot too, but i didnt like Rashan Gary in that draft. both turned out great
