Game Thread Spurs (11-5) @ Trailblazers (8-10) (Wed 11/26/25) [9:00PM CDT]

Legit don't care about the cup tbh. If they can win one of the next two and go 2-2 on this road trip I'll consider it a massive W.

Normally I don't care about it either as I thought they should discontinue it last year, but now I think it would be good for the young players to experience some higher pressure games well before the playoffs. Could help them the rest of the reason and also playoffs when they get there.

Love Danny Green as a player, but man is he a tough listen on the broadcast.

Yeah, a bit rough, like really rough at times, but I like the guy. He wasn't saying Mr. 100% right. Having said that, DG is Mr. 100% himself so far. He's putting it all on the line next game.
The goal this season is to make the playoffs tbh. Get that playoff experience so next season they can hopefully open their championship window.

Yes, agree, but since they're a young team, it wouldn't hurt for them to experience some higher pressure games earlier in the season. Could give them a boost the rest of the way to make an even bigger playoff push. I don't think these cup games mean anything to an older team/contending teams, but it can help young team a little bit to experience some higher stake games earlier in the season.

It was 3am here so I have just watched replay on high seas.
Starting from the worst:
Shame about Jeremy's decline, big fan but I am afraid his time with this team (and possibly in NBA) is running out if he keeps regressing instead of improving.
I hope they'll sent CB to G league as soon as regular G season starts 19th for reps as he obviously needs more minutes on the court to develop his O game.
Lindy got some cardio minutes as weaker last game from DJG got him benched in his favour probably.
Lunch Lady should not pass out on open 3s, he is not Sochan ffs.
Good games from Devin (as usuall if he is hot on a given night) Julian (I loved rebounding plus usual staff) Uncl as always showed maturity, Kornet did what he could and should, Big bodywith another great game of pure energy from the bench.
Great game from worst contract in a whole NBA, real clutch player delivers when it matters.
Team positives:
Rebounding (still could score more on second chances).
Limiting TOs.
Only 25% of 3s allowed (though they were very cold exept for Deni).
Beating trash team away as they should have (but couldn't often last years).
Seems like they have less dumb plays without Wemby sometimes???:p

Good needed W. We need to be as high as possible in the west to avoid much better teams in a first round.
:st-flag::st-flag::st-flag:

Edit; I knew I have forgotten something: Harper is back! Conditioning is lacking but skillz and IQ still there.

I originally had Luke at a 3 but bumped it to 4. Stat sheet isn’t great, but he really is doing the dirty work for us down low, tirelessly. Another tall task against Clingan and he battled well. His defense and rebounding seemed to get better as the game went on, and he played well in the 4th.

I was a bit fed up with Kornet this game tbh. That is why I only gave him a 3. Jacob Toby mentioned "Kornet missed only 9 FGs all season" and he immediately missed like the next 4-5 FGs
I probably did not pay enough attention with regards to his defensive work.

I know it’s a lowly opponent, but was this Mitch’s best coached game so far?

Man, I hate Westcoast games. I'm already dozing off waiting for the game to start.

I'm getting to old for this shit lol

I fell asleep at haftime lol

Finishing the game now

Great win. Gotta get these while our stars are out so that the losses against the better teams don’t sting so badly in the standings. Even if the Blazers are crap, there’s still a ton of pressure to win and they rose to the occasion
Blazers are as banged up as we are,and not dealing with it as well, but they beat both OKC and Denver.

De’Aaron’s night. Career high as a Spur. Even with a crappy start. Really gotta give him 100% of the credit for this win. 14 in the 4th as well, he created and secured the W for us.

A nice night for Vassell, as the ball was going in. My trepidation is that this doesn’t happen every night. But when it does, everything is roses and daffodils. He did play average (and if I dare say slightly above average) defense, so credit there.

Mature game from Mitch. Stopped playing the stinkers and doubled Avdija.

Julian got 5 stars from me. You look at his stat line, that’s what you want from your $3M role player: 12/11/2 on 50/40, 1TO 1 PF. Some clutch rebounds AGAIN.

Keldon with another impressive outing. I don’t wanna jinx anything, but at this point in the season it feels like his turning of the corner is more resolute and dependable than Devin. He’s really sharpening his blade in terms of how to maximize his physical advantages, and how he fits into the team gameplan. Good D too.

HB continues his “grown-ass man” year.

Dylan played pretty good given his first game back. There was a stretch in the 3rd he wasn’t picking up the ball while only PG out there, I was yelling at the TV. But perhaps by design from Mitch being his first game back, I dunno.

Kelly - take the damn shot.

Jeremy - be a goldfish…and good luck next game is all I can say.

Waters played badly, he better be ready to tear it up next time he sees the floor.
I do not understand the gameplan of not running the offense through your point guard either. Dylan being in the corner drove me crazy. There would be possessions where he wouldnt touch the ball. It’s like we’re purposely going against what was working.

Nobody puts Dylan in the corner…
