Game Thread Playoffs Round 1, Game 4: Spurs @ Blazers (2-1) (Sun 04/26/2026) [2:30 CDT]

No way.. We will face the TPups with Ayo Donsunmu
I expect Denver to beat Wolves in 7 with all of Minny's injuries, but it would be so disappointing if we don't feast on Nuggets' carcass right after. We should be aping Wolves gameplan against them. (Corliss Williamson was part of Chris Finch staff for years)

Tbh, I don't think playing on the road is a disadvantage for our team.
We have the second best road record in the league and have beaten every West team on the road at least once, except the Timberwolves.
Tbh. Called it before G3.

Another great comeback performance by the good guys. Nice to see Fox show up big. Wemby looked a bit scared on offense in the first half which is understandable. But his defensive impact was so big, I have never seen anything like this.
The whole thing about being cleared by Spurs doctors but not the NBA doctors on Friday is fine with me. Of course an explanation would be fine, but oh what a surprise that Spurs doctors were more optimistic. That is why the rule exists. And it turned out great for us.

Lets close this out on Tuesday. I doubt that the Blazers will shoot any better with elimination game pressure so I hope the Spurs at least bring decent tenacity to win the game and have more rest than a second round opponent.

It's funny when the Spurs start getting skullfucked in a stretch I'll just go and talk a walk around the neighborhood for ten minutes to get away and at least half the time when I return the guys have crawled back and it's a game again. Can't do that with a team that's not legitimately awesome. Shoutout to @Russ who I learned that from in the 2000s dynasty.
I was pretty positive this time around (for me at least), but then again, I'm not normally able to watch games live and I have a habit of coming in after the game is over and unloading some of those thoughts at the end of the game thread that would have been throughout the thread if I was watching it live. Thanks for the advice on Russ's method.

Not a gentleman’s sweep tbh
What is a gentleman's sweep anyway? I don't even know what one is classified as.

he won them game 2 with two critical threes
Anyone that plays well in the playoffs isn't shit. That's why I'm not totally crapping on Scoot like a lot of people are after this game. He won his team a playoff game and scored 30+ points in it.

The Athletic reported that doctors and the Spurs cleared him for Friday. The NBA director of the leagues concussion program didn’t clear him. Wemby requested an independent neurologist do an exam. League still didn’t clear him and didn’t give a reason as to why.
Wow, very, very interesting. I did say I think earlier in this game thread that I was wondering if the NBA was trying to extend the series by not clearing him (this is before they cleared him for game 4 as it was getting pretty tight if he'd be cleared for game 4). I wonder why they didn't clear him. We they looking out for his safety, or did they have other reasons?

So you’re the asshole who caused the spurs to go down big by watching them. Stop watching in real time.

Bad optics imo. Very clear video evidence he was knocked out for a good 5-10 seconds. Even if it wasn't a serious concussion in the end, it still looked bad. People would question how thorough the NBA is with their concussion protocol if Wemby was ok'd that soon.

That's actually a pretty good theory. It definitely looked like Vic was knocked out for a bit.

What do you think about Vic questioning the NBA? Don't really want him doing it publicly (he should have said nothing at all and waited until after the season) as I don't want any more possible shitty officiating against the Spurs.

San Antonio Spurs Youtube channel has the full postgame.... i didn't know till today either that they were doing the post game stuff.
Thank you. I'm not seeing it. I wonder if it's because I'm not in the US?

Edit: I think I just found it under 'live' videos. I wonder if they just started doing it, or did they do it from the start of the series and just not post the videos?
