Another L for the Hawks tonight. Good stuff. JJ with another big game though.

Has anyone shared A.M. Hoops’ take on this? He’s a former San Antonio sports media guy who’s reinvented himself as the SHAMWOW pitchman of hoops YouTube commentary and clickbait channels.

He must have had an account on the Lithuanian servers and might have one here as well.

An absolute steal at 20th overall pick. A lot of you didn’t want Jalen Johnson for his “character” and Spurs drafted Primo :ROFLMAO:
Well, as I've come to look at it, even 1 or 2 or 3 more wins in those seasons could have meant no Vic, Stephon or D-Harp, so I'm cool with all the misses back then. From this point on, though, I want the Spurs to be scouting their asses off (hire some high level scouts if they don't already have them, or if they do have good ones, hire a couple more) and try to minimize misses going forward. Especially 2nd round picks, they need to really look seriously at not wasting second round picks.

Agree. We could’ve drafted Wemby’s friend at SRP as a project big. The Spurs are really thin at backup C as insurance, no disrespect to Biyombo

Wemby’s friend made it clear that 3rd center wasn’t what he wanted. Second round picks do that, now.

bruh everybody knows the Spurs have some of the best scouts in the game

Hawks are as irritating as last year, pulling out victories while the East can't get its shit together and field good teams.

Don’t stress about it too much man. We’re talking about jumping to the 14-18 range, from low to mid 20s.

I was about state my opinion that the 26 swap is absolutely worthless to the Spurs, as it's (a) a coin-flip that it even conveys, and (b) even if it does convey, we're likely going to be targeting team needs and culture fits over raw upside/talent, such that we're picking the same player at #17 and #24 anyway.

But instead, I choose to view this as an opportunity to swap from #30 to something sub-20, and now once again I see it as a positive asset. We should make it a point to celebrate Spurs wins in this thread, same as Hawks losses. GSG

I've seen some people here that have questioned the Spurs' current scouts due to the picks they've made in the second round the past few years. That's why I bought that up.

As soon as we can get all of these stupid swaps out of the way we can go back to knocking picks 28-30 out of the park like the good old days

You do understand there is a level between starter, and third string, right? Third string almost never plays. It’s not a good roster spot for development.
Dude is averaging almost 10 pts, 5 rebs, 35% 3pt and almost a block a game for 42nd pick. Spurs could use that

We're getting the #3 pick, to complete the set.
#1 Vic
#2 Harper
#3 ???
#4 Castle
:ROFLMAO: Had the same thought pass through my mind last week. Honestly, I just hope they do better with the scouting wherever we pick. The years before Wemby had more misses than hits. Now, we just look at it as if we don't get Vic had we made better picks.

It feels so fucking good and privileged that the Spurs have the luxury of a seemingly playoff-bound season of winning, while also having the probability of their draft pick improving several spots because of this swap...

It's the definition of gravy tbh. I cared about ATL much more last season but haven't found myself following their record at all this year.

And to think we still have one more of their picks coming in next season :st-lmao: that Dejounte trade was highway robbery :st-lol:

It is one of those weird things where SA got a good deal for DJM, and maybe it would have been highway robbery if not for the fact that ATL had another sucker waiting in the wings that they could repeatedly exploit.

Imagine a con man (Don, we’ll call him) who figures out he can sell Fake Rolex’s he can get for $10 to this one guy (Jim, let’s call him) for $200 each…

One day, it becomes clear to Don that Jim is quite aware these watches are fake, so Don asks him about it. “Hey Jim… if you know these are fake… why do you keep buying them from me?”

Jim, with a smile on his face, look at Don as says “These are great, I can sell them to Joe for $4000 each!”

its much easier to get it right picking at 1, 4, and 2 than 19, 11, 12, 9, or in the 20s
