Aside from him being too old, Yaxl! Looks like just the kind of versatile PF we need.

Hawks lost but Jalen Johnson is becoming an absolute beast.. 21/18/16 (triple double will soon be an almost a nightly occurence for him)

He is definitely more off-table than the Pelicans pick if we are talking Giannis trade.

Yup he's a beast. He's the engine that makes them go. Still only 23. Health is the only thing that could keep him from becoming a perennial All-Star imo.

Where did this kid come from. Was he always good, but just injured? I don't want to watch them due to the draft picks (I'd feel bad watching them hoping they lose), but may have to just to see more of JJ's game.

Rank these oversized ball-handling fowards with excellent passing and average shooting both now and moving forward:

Jalen Johnson
Scottie Barnes
Franz Wagner
Deni Avdija

Obviously contracts have to be excluded because Avdija's contract is the best in the league rookie contracts excluded.

Wagner is a true PF, other 3 would be SFs back in the day.
I'll still give it to Avdija because his FTs aren't a product of foul baiting, he just keeps relentlessly attacking the rim.
Wagner slightly behind because he's the most proven of the bunch.
Johnson's recent performances have been MVP level, but it's too small of a sample size and I'm not sure he can stay healthy.
Haven't seen enough of Barnes this season, but his stats look way better across the board. He looks like the complete forward Anunoby was supposed to develop into for the Raptors.

Great question.

1. Jalen
2. Deni
3. Barnes
4. Franz

Deni's ballin' this season, but he's easily the worst defender of the 4 which keeps him out of the top spot. Jalen when healthy is the most dynamic of the bunch imo and has the highest two-way ceiling. He's also a year younger than the other 3. Barnes is a great two-way player too who often guards opposing team's best wing players. And while he's averaging 3-5 less PPG less than the others, he's been the most efficient of the 4 this season. Franz is awesome too though and his 3PT shot has improved considerably over the past 2 seasons, though he's not quite as good defensively as JJ and Barnes (but still better than Deni). Can't go wrong with any of these guys. All 4 are great young players.

He was a top prospect, and most teams considered him talented, but he bounced around to four high schools and quit Duke after 13 games. Teams were kind of getting a Kawhi family vibe.

And for perspective, it turned into Noa Essengue…
Who just had a season ending shoulder surgery.
At least he had a memorable moment in his Rookie season tbh.

^ so for those keeping score the Fox Trade is basically

Zollins, Jones, Sidy
Essengue (CHI FRP)
Raynaud (CHI SRP)
Flipped Dillingham
Flipped Forbes 😂

SAS 27FRP
CHA 26 & 27 SRPs (fake first)
CHA 27SRP

Don't forget we still have 20131 MIN swap from Dillingham trade. We traded away just the 2030 pick.

Absolute fleecing :st-lol: Pretty sure Spurs will get a better return when they eventually move 29-30 yo Fox in '27 or '28 offseason than the Kings did for their #5 pick, smack-deep-in-his-prime star.

To say they sold low on him--even with their dwindling leverage-- would be an understatement.
