NBA 2025-26 NBA Thread

And they are hard capped, can't sign anyone without shedding salary and have 9 guys cannot be traded until 12-15.

I didn't realize how risky this is. Sengun is still far and away their best player, Durant can still be quite effective. But they have maybe two or three dependable guys off the bench and I'm not counting Sheppard who can be good, but isn't right now. I don't know how this team won't get worn out.

Yeah FVV going down put them on a total tight-rope. If KD or Sengun go down for any length they're in real trouble. Reed and Aaron Holiday kinda of have to play. If Amen goes down they may be fucked until he's back, he's so key to that D and ballhandling.

Simmons, Lowe and Joe House talk about the Spurs at about the 1 hr mark. I timestamped it. Bill said he's fully erect for the Spurs.

Stephon Castle will wear a gold patch on his jersey this season

The jerseys of the 2024-25 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player, Kia Rookie of the Year, and Kia Defensive Player of the Year will feature a gold logo patch on the back. So that means this program will see Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, Evan Mobley, and Stephon Castle as the only three NBA players to wear the "Gold Logoman" on the back of their jerseys this season.

These patches, like the 1-of-1 rookie card from Cooper Flagg, will later be inserted into Topps trading cards.

Keegan Murray also had a thumb surgery, meaning there won't be anyone to play defense.

Wait...they also have Schroeder and Monk is still on the team. What the fuck?
With Saric, Eubanks and Raynaud as Sabonis backups. :st-lmao:
McDermott is also there for some reason.

They could be the second worst team in the league.
They were always incompetent, but this is entering "the league needs to step in" territory.

Quick run-down of WC teams vis-a-vis the Spurs. I don't think they're at the realm of OKC, Denver, or Minnesota, but may take games off of them. I'm not sure about the Clippers, always a weird team. Houston may be very good but are brittle.

Lakers are not built very well, Golden State is extremely old. Dallas I think will be tough.

Portland will be better. Memphis is a crap shoot and they got rid of their good coach.

The rest I think are not very good. Right now, with a healthy Vic, I think the Spurs push LAC and Rox for around the #4 slot. Somewhere between 4-6.

I love your confidence! I think we have the talent, but, usually learning to win and sustaining it take some time. I'd be thrilled with 7 or 8, 5 or 6 would be a dream come true and a tremendous ascension. Our depth will be a new asset and the youth should bring some fresh legs. If Sochan and Vassell are solid contributors to winning, 4 might be in reach. If not, we're probably play-in material. Hope I'm wrong and you're right!

Houston would be interesting in how they run their offence. Having Sengun run point center makes sense. I know a lot of people have Amen running point but I would put the ball in Durant's hand and see if he can play make more this year. He had an assist rate of 18.8% last year, while not PG material, still puts him at around the top 1/3 in the NBA, ahead of guys like Wemby, Lonzo, Derozan, and close the the Derrick Whites and Bams of the NBA. He's pretty bad in terms of Ast/TO ratio, at the bottom quartile of the league with non-ball handlers, but I would attribute that mostly to his role to force basket creation in a largely non-functional offensive set. As a pick and roll ball handler he was around 66th %ile, so its not bad (Amen was 44th while Sengun was 95th).
