NBA 2025-26 NBA Thread

Wait what? Missing who??? I know you are not talking about plahing against the 3-11 Kings!!!!!!!!!
Missing Wemby (franchise player), Harper (6th man) and Castle in the first half (starting PG). Those are arguably our 3 most impactful players, yet nobody is panicking, shortening the rotation and overplaying guys on a regular season game in november.

And it's not only that, it's the game plan too. Most contenders will make minor adjustments depending on matchups but, in general, they just play their system. Udoka treats every single regular sesson game like game 7 of a playoffs series. He would drastically change the way they do things just to adapt to a particular matchup. Which might not sound like a bad thing, but when you are expected to be a contender, you shouldn't need to go balls to the wall everygame. You should be able to get by with your generic system and not showing your hand for future, more important, matchups.

I told you this would happen last season and it is exactly what happened, yet here you are again arguing against it like the irreversible homer that you are, tbh. :st-lol:

I don't follow closely Houston to have a formed opinion but I think that Udoka is overplaying Sengun (37 mpg is a lot for a beginning of the season following an euro with Turkey getting to the finals) and KD (36 mpg and dude is 37)

Udoka has some serious Thibs tendencies.

Sengun is 23 years old bro

Immediately after the announcement about Wemby's calf strain, Chet became the betting favorite for DPOY.

I get it but point remains about udoka trend to run his players onto the ground like thib
Who has he run into the ground? Eason has been made of glass since forever. FVV tore his ACL in the off-season.

Daniss Jenkins is having his version of Linsanity with Detroit, with four nice games in a row, all wins, including three without Cade Cunningham and two without Jalen Duren. He's doing this while on a two way contract that pays him about $636,435.
It seems like every young player on the Pistons has taken a leap forward at the same time this year, and now they're 12-2, and #1 in the Eastern Conference. Let's hope De'Aaron Fox, with his $37mil salary, can do something similar while Wemby sits.

It's easy to see how comparisons between players develop and how important context is. If Wemby misses 18 games this year and
Chet wins the DPOY award and a second ring, OKC fans will undoubtedly be fans of a narrative that says Wemby might be the better player, but Chet is a better winner. And if Fox & his max contract don't elevate the Spurs overall over the next three seasons while OKS goes on to win multiple rings, that narrative will only get louder as time goes on. This could easily be the Russell vs Chamberlain debate all over again.

And that would be true.

And that would be true.
In a sense, but maybe it would be more accurate to say one was lucky enough to land in a better winning situation, rather than being a better winner. I mean, no one with a choice is picking Fox to be their PG over Shai.

Sure, but as a fan I am honestly not that concerned over this.
There is still a legit argument to be made the if Garnett swapped places with Duncan he would've won 5 and Duncan 1, I am not totally agreeing with it, not am I all that concerned over it as, because at the end, the Spurs won 5. Point it, whatever legacy Wemby has isn't my biggest concern as a fan of the Spurs. Of course I want Wemby to end up being the GoAT with his entire career as a Spur, but that is only because it means he would've won a hell lot of titles for us.

My favourite player ever is, and will forever remain, the Admiral. He most definitely didn't get recognized for his greatness as I think he is one of the most underrated superstars ever, but ultimately he won two ring. He got an MVP, DPoY, RoY, All-NBA teams, all-star teams, scoring/rebounding/blocked shots tile, but as a fan, I am just glad he won two titles, that's all.

LeBron back tonight, passing Vince Carter for most seasons (23 for Bron). Beard is trimmed and he's looking good... fuck the Lakers... but I like Bron, ya'll haters are crazy.

Detroit really does look legit, and so especially does Jalen Duren. They're 13-2 now, after beating an Atlanta team that had won five in a row.
With the East so wide open and affected by injuries to stars like Tatum and Embiid, Orlando and Milwaukee looking pretty average, and Cleveland and the Knicks being relatively untested, it's really not far-fetched to think they could make the Eastern Conference finals.

They could make the Finals tbh. Don't think they're beating a healthy Denver or OKC though.

LeBron glided into his first game back with a perfectly understated approach, letting Doncic, Reaves, Ayton, and LaRavia take most of the shots while posting 12 assists and only 1 turnover. I hate to admit it, but the Lakers are a quality team now.

It is wild how most conspiracy theories now are either proven to be true or have a solid grounding in reality. If not the Mavs, there is no doubt in my mind a franchise is getting moved to Vegas before 2030 (Silver and owners are coy about expansion but ok with relocation)..It is probably between Mavs or Pelicans who does the better inside screw job in their respective markets

As soon as Luka was traded to the motherfucking Lakers, it was obvious there was favors granted.

Flagg was the immediate. Las Vegas the long play.

Still maintain no Vegas franchise exists without LeBron, but I suppose the “influx” of cash from a new owner as significant as LeBron may help with the dire situation of the recently majority purchased Mavs. Which begs, why would the new owners pay what they did to become majority stake if the financials were on the downturn?

Because they had promises years ago. Years.

Suns with a quality road win vs Portland a game after their 4th Quarter Meltdown is a good sign they’ll be able to handle the ups and downs of the season and remain .500 competitive. Tough stretch upcoming.

Sounds like the Mavs are going to blow it up. Wonder what Davis goes for. He would fit well next to Victor if he wasn't such a fucking china doll
