Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

Are you retarded or something? That was not Victor's fault. The video is on this page. That was Towns that left Barnes wide open at the three to over help on a drive to the basket.
No. Because victor forget about his man and instead double team cade. Lmao.. kat was just forced to rotate to the rolling man(vic’d man) after the pick and roll with cade.
so why vic needs to double teaming cade leaving jis man wide open rolling to the basket. Lmao

Funny that the resident Wemby slobber would blame him for something that clearly wasn't his fault :st-lol:

The POINT was to funnel them inside. It was played perfectly until the tards on the left wing collapsed.

Uh what? Duren set a screen and Vic switched onto Cade at the three point line. Tf are you talking about. Who cares if they were open rolling to the basket? They needed a three to win. Lmao so you are retarded

He stoopid.

Something about the ASG and Vic that I haven't seen mentioned - did anyone notice how roll-centric his game was in the first match?

He began the game by immediately cutting hard to the rim for an easy 2pts, then a 3, and then continued to roll hard at the rim hoping for passes [ that Jamal Murray, Siakam & Co. weren't even looking to make ]. I thought that was very interesting. He practically didn't go for any "dribble combo moves" until the last play of the game (a stupid play by him, at that, he couldn't drive and forced a hot-potato pass to Murray for a 3).

We've spoken about his relative lack of physicality in games, along with a lack of focus on the PnR, and I found it very refreshing to see he can absolutely "switch it on" when the game matters to him. Promising stuff for the playoffs.

Was he rolling off picks, or just free rolling, like a cut? He sets really poor picks, which is probably why they don’t use it more. Also, one can assume a laissez faire level of defense in an ASG.

He was definitely slipping on his picks, like he always does, but I remember at least 2 "well-set" screens on the right perimeter for Useless Murray to drive off of.

Honestly it'd be terrible coaching for the answer to be "he sets bad picks so they don't use it" - teach the boy some fundamentals, Mitch! Though we don't really know to what extent slipping the screens is accidental VS a conscious decision to preserve his body - those knees take a damn beating when defenders fight through him. Given the way guard Vs big man is officiated nowadays, can't fault him too much there... So long as he can "turn it up" when it matters, which remains TBD until the playoffs I guess.

It’s not about coaching, any more than him not being a bruising post up player. You’ve got to work around that physique. It’s not ideal for setting picks.

I'm really curious to see how Vic starts out against PHX. Granted they will be without Brooks, but I want to see Wemby with a similar level of aggression we saw in the first half against LAL.

Anything less than blowing them out will be a disappointment imo.
