Though I came to the same NBA = Fucked conclusion on that same play when Wemby took the ball from the three point line to the FT line and then just bulled Davis onto the low block to drop that baby hook over him. I also loved his point about how Victor is doing this to Anthony Davis; what the fuck happens when it's DeAndre Ayton guarding him?

I'm still just in awe of that one play. It's so repeatable and if he's doing it to Anthony Davis I don't see how anyone is stopping that short of just sending aggressive doubles every time he touches the ball. That honestly got me more excited than the up and under dunk because it's something so simple he can do it over and over.

That's what I'm thinking. If that was before the Dallas game, he was probably telling him if the Spurs don't put a contending team around him, then LA will do it. I think he was telling him something like that. It was probably mostly regular conversation (talking about Victor's game) and then he probably dropped something in there for a few minutes or so.

I am totally fine with that. Getting superstar noncalls for things like traveling and carrying is part of the game, as much as I dislike it. Wemby is better positioned to take full advantage of the rules with his insane stride length and wingspan than any other player.

Having your foot hit the ground a microsecond before the last dribble does allows three full steps after, the gather and then the one-two. It already looks like a travel and would be called one in FIBA ball, I'm pretty sure. If the ball hits just a little too early then you lose a full step and the maneuver gets far harder to do. But it's up to the refs to call it, and they rarely do.
