Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

I highly doubt KG is telling the truth about Duncan and Victor's relationship. It seemed like he was doing one of his cheesy self promos when he said what he said about Duncan to promote himself. I don't believe any truth to this until there are other outside sources that can confirm this is true. People can say what they want about Duncan being aloof but he's worked out with plenty of guys before during his career during the offseason such as Hibbert, Plumlee and mentored them. Heck even a few years ago he worked out with David Robinson's youngest son along with his Duke teammate. I highly doubt it that he would reject Victor if Victor asked for help.
@ 36:10 KG mentions that TD and Vic "don't get along" and don't work with each other. It's KG so who knows that that actually means, just interesting he mentioned it.

When Victor did that tomahawk on Flagg and Lively all I could think is that's his greatest in-game dunk ever. And then 20 minutes later he completely destroys that one with his up and under after blowing by PJ Washington.

I can see Wemby not getting along with TP despite the French connection because us old Spurs fans know about TP’s ways lol. But TD? Nope. Also, fuck KG, especially for calling Admiral outdated but not Hakeem.

You watch that play where AD fouled him on a jump shot and tell me that Wemby didn't get up like the Undertaker :st-lol:

How the fuck am I supposed to get any sleep after that game? Ugh have work in the morning but feel wired like I just smoked a teenth of OKC's finest glass grade.
I gotta get up in 5 hours but you don’t see me asking these questions cuz I ain’t no bitch (I’m absolutely too old for this shit and will regret everything in the morning)

just to be that asshole to nitpick, early in the game when he hit that jumper moving to his left, i thought it was a pretty clear travel he got away with. i counted 4 steps after his last dribble, so even if you give him the one gather step, still was a travel imo

Asshole nitpick

He’s bound to be called for those especially since he’s just incorporating whatever footwork Hakeem taught him. For the life of me, I dont know how TD hasnt taught him all this before.

We
are
going
to
win
the
NBA CUP!!!!!

book it
I wish they'd just completely abolish the NBA Cup altogether. Dunno everyone else's feelings on the in season tournament stuff. Maybe I'm showing my age 😂 But hey as long as it's there, we may as well go get it 🏆

I think the NBA Cup is fine ... it does not hurt to have it and is mixing things up a bit. Trophy is worthless but for young teams like ours it gives a chance to bond even more in this sidequest.

That was an almost terrifyingly good game from Wemby. The two things I probably liked best about it was that he seems to handle NBA physicality better than before and that he played in an impressively controlled and focused manner. If this is the level we can expect on a consistent basis from Wemby this season (not the statline per se but the overall quality of his game), then I'm kind of at a loss for words ...

I mean, it was an insane performance. Not sure what else to say about it. He showed so many things in this single game. Not sure you can expect him to play like that all the time (I hope he does), but he showed a bit of everything this game. It was crazy good.

Victor is something else, last year he scored by throwing 10 3s per game and in the opener he continues to score but with only 2 3 attempts, he started preseason with 5 or 6 TOs per game but tonight 0, he also started preseason with looking for teammates tonight he only had one assist. It seems as if he will win games as a 3 and D guard or as a center focusing on that or this at will... how opponents prepare against that ?

Well, it seems like playing closer to the basket, instead of taking 15 3's per game was indeed the way to go.
The difference in his game was obvious. If I recall correctly, no 3’s in the first quarter for him. Last year he would have taken 5 in the 1st.

We all knew he needed to play down low but yet he felt that he needed to live at the 3 pt line.

I always noticed in his interviews how he emphasized not doing things like a traditional big man would and it seemed like that translated to him playing like a guard or Kevin Durant ball.

But now that he’s added a post game with footwork and playing closer to the basket, his game looks great and easy. Who woulda thunk??
