Player The Uncertainty Realm of the Improved Jumpshot of Jeremy Sochan

Seems like a thing every single coach who is trying to win does... in all of sports, even at the junior levels. You play the players who you think will best help you win and you don't play the ones you don't.
But he’s a nice guy and once he scored 30 points in a game 3 years ago. How can Mitch not find any use for him?

honking his car at 4 am to Sochan’s overall demeanor and him being late for practice, @scott
His Rodman light schtick never did take.
Trying to prop Pop for his Friends Club minutes in the Tank years and omitting Mitch screams rather petty.
He's still young, can make a go of it. Needs to score a work ethic and perhaps get some substance abuse info imo. Looks like he overdoes the bud.

Always found it funny how he tried to be like Rodman while playing for the man who shipped Rodman ass out of here

I kind of see it this way, Sochan was important when the team didn't have a whole lot of talent. He was a pick that filled a need. Slowly, through the draft and through trades the overall level of team talent improved. Bryant was drafted for a need as well, but took a lot less time to show his potential- and the spurs like what they see.

The team was hoping Sochan would improve also but instead he regressed to the point, for what ever reason, he basically became unplayable in this system. If you don't improve or at least keep up, you are history in the NBA. Its some other teams turn to invest in Sochan. Maybe it works out for him, maybe not.

Doesn't matter any more , the spurs have moved on. Time to look forward not backwards.

Actually, this is how rumor fest get started and roll. You acknowledged your mistake, most don't.

The story was about Steph's appreciation for Jeremy's attitude and work ethic; how he brought a spark to the team and locker room even when things weren't going his way.

I think Spurs just thought he's hit his ceiling and won't improve much. He'll most likely never become a shooter or a great playmaker, which makes him a flawed player.

Just glad he's gone and the franchise and fanbase can move on. He won't be missed and won't be remembered. Only PopTards thought he had something to offer when he obviously didn't. And obviously the front office finally thought the same. Maybe they tried to trade him to 29 other teams and they all said no? Released him and got signed by a team who hadn't won a thing in 50 years. He won't be in the league much longer. So glad he's gone

Allot of talk for a player that will probably either be overseas or on 10 day contracts next season.

I was surprised we did not trade him to NY when Yabusele got rid of his player option for next year. I dont know how well he would have done here but could not have been worse then Sochan and would have given us another big.

i don't think that's quite it, there's no reason to get rid of mamu for olynik and keeping biyombo

None of these players have ever played meaningful minutes for a Spurs team trying to win games.

Who is on the roster is the GM’s job.

Who plays in the game is the coaches job.

His flaw was he didn't seem to take things seriously enough
maybe he was out the rotation when a lot of the fun happened. also tony parker and dejounte murray were not shy of partying and had decent careers.

I will just say, when you imagine who you want playing next to wemby it's not sochan. hes not tough enough and not skilled enough. doesn't mean he cant work elsewhere. lots of players thrive in different systems.

Have seen some chatter on the Spurs reddit (which lets be honest, is the foremost authority on Sochan news) that Sochan and Mills no longer follow each other on socials, haven't posted about each other, are probably broken up and one of them recently posted something that illuded to cheating. Could also explain some of Sochan's emo social media posts.

Yea his girl confirmed on IG that she's preggers. Congrats to Jeremy tbh.

Yo, has it come out what he did to get ejected from the team? Or did he literally just suck?

Prob some combo of both?
He wasn’t playing well, he fell out of the rotation and it didn’t seem like Mitch liked him enough to continue to try and make it work. So they did him a solid and gave him a release so he could sign elsewhere.

No indication of any problems outside of him just not being a good fit with the current coach and roster.
