Player The Refurbished Budget Wine Cellar of Julian Champagnie

He played 7 minutes in two games, missed one three pointer and had a steal. I think he would hold no grudge for them releasing him, and creating his opportunity here.
Oh, if that's the case, Philadelphia never see saw what he had or doesn't sound like they have give a chance to see what he has. Oh well, glad they didn't.

in light of the expansion draft, the spurs can either sign champ to a series of 1+1 contracts with champ and let the market determine his worth. When expansion draft comes, he would be an UFA, which means he can’t be drafted and that point sign him to a longer deal at that point, or

Sign him to a long term back loaded deal thus discouraging him being drafted. If he did, the spurs at consider trading draft capital for him (say a late first) but I’m not sure if that is allowed.

I've been looking at Santi Aldama's 2+1/$52.5 as a model for Champ's deal. Might be able to get slightly lower off of that to account for the $3MM he's due next year, but that could line up nicely with the expansion draft.
