Player The Lifelong Residency of the Ever-Important Heart and Soul of the Spurs, Keldon Johnson

Keldon is an extremely nice switch-up in our lineup of wings. Dudes a bruiser and you can tell it really messes with opponents defensive flow.

I didn't give Keldon props for the last game. One of the bright spots in that loss to Utah. Guy is bringing it this season. If Sweeney and those guys have played a part in his turnaround (especially on defense), then mega props to them too. I didn't think he could play decent defense ever. I'm most impressed by his turnaround on the defensive end. His rebounding has also been monstrous too.

There are justifiably lots of questions about guys who come up only playing on losing teams and have never shown themselves to be winning players on winning teams (this goes for TMIII and Lauri Markkanen currently)... and these were major question marks coming in about Devin and Keldon... and this goes for both of them, but Keldon especially seems like a guy who is sick of losing, is relishing playing winning basketball, and is going to give it his all every opportunity he can. And that's what really make him the heart and soul of our team!

With the slump our guards have been in + Wemby not being super available, KJ has been our savior tbh. Who would’ve thought?

From trade fodder to critical cog in the machine. Give this man his flowers. He is playing his role to perfection at this moment.

I'm not sure I've ever done such a 180 on a player in such a short time, but I've gone from thinking he was an overpaid, over-utilized Popovich foster project to now hoping his jersey is retired someday.
It's all of us brother. I think we are all a little bit in shock at how drastically he has turned the corner. And the great thing is he loves this team so much. He absolutely fucking loves being here. For him to be successful here means so much more to him than what any fan feels. He has made this place a part of his fabric and now he is one of the best bench players in the league on the team that he loves. It's just a great story.

The thing is that on top of the rebouding, the scoring driving to the basket and the overall energy, dude is shooting .42 from 3 on 3 attempts per game which is way more that we could ask.

A lot of talks has been around Spurs needing an enforcer kind of player for the POs, we have found him.

Dude plays hard and with heart and does what is best for the team without complaining. Spurs FO shouldn't overpay for him but I also believe they also should take care of him. I think he's earned it to be a lifer here.

Wonder what kind of off season training he did before this year.

He should invite other Spurs to train with him...

ThaT is the super impressive part. I hope he can do it in the playoffs. His ascension has been amazing so far this season.

We don't win this Boston game without Keldon's big plays late in the 4th. 6th man of the year tbh.
For sure. There was a moment (right when he made that lazy pass TO that led to a BOS fast break dunk) that I commented it was his worst game of the season, and I don’t think that was hyperbole… and then he turned it around and dragged us to victory
