Player The Lifelong Residency of the Ever-Important Heart and Soul of the Spurs, Keldon Johnson

I don't know if Duren is a fake tough guy lol. There are fake tough guys like KAT in the league, but I don't think Duren belongs in that list. KJ stood up for his dude, Duren stood up for his, that whole play was a lot of nothing and didn't even need a review but it is 2026 and this is what the NBA is now. But you are right that KJ stepping up for Castle there was good. That is something Sochan and others would have done in the past and its actually something every team needs.
I don’t think Duren is a fake tough guy, he just had to be on his best behavior, having just come off a suspension.

Both Duren and Beff Stew come off to me as real tough guys, except this is basketball and not UFC :st-lol:

Sochan was/is an example of a fake tough guy. He's the dude "hold me back, hold me back" while hiding behind Keldon kind of dude. I have no doubt in my mind that Duren would be as happy as Stew to take a suspension.

Probably not right now, though, since suspension tend to be progressive in length , and he’s just coming off the Charlotte one.

I obviously have no clue about the mentalities of these guys… but neither Duren or Stew strike me of guys who are going to give two thoughts about another suspension if the time to throw a punch presents itself (this isn’t intended to be a compliment either)

I kind of feel like Keldon is our enforcer in some ways. He is a nice guy who isn’t a hot head but he’ll stand up for justice and he’s a big dude… like the Spurs’ Jack Reacher.

In our game against Detroit, Duren looked like he wanted to go, but had second thoughts. You’re right about Beef Stew, though. He’s just fucking nuts.

Happiest for Keldon out of anybody that we're back in the playoffs tbh.

If the Spurs ring in the next few years, this clip will deservedly be cemented in Spurs lore.

Loved his post drum mic grab..

So happy for Keldon. I never wanted him traded but purely because he is such a nice guy, this year, it's because he is a vital cog in the machine. Heart and soul of the team, Fox/Barnes will bring the experience and steadying hand, Keldon will bring the fire, Wemby will bring the goods.
