Player The Lifelong Residency of the Ever-Important Heart and Soul of the Spurs, Keldon Johnson

Keldon confirmed not getting traded. Vassell and Sochan on the other hand...

That 13 points in the 1st qtr put the Spurs on top and I think never relinquished the lead

Am I the only one who thinks he has looked better on defense recently?

Definitely deserves to be in the top 5 for 6MOTY race.

HYPE!!!

Most dope video they’ve released yet.

The Spurs media team is at the top of their game @LeBowen

Here’s a snippet from the Howdy Partners Podcast on ESPN, featuring Texas beat reporters Tim MacMahon and Micheal C. Wright. Michael, who lives in San Antonio, is better than any local guys calling themselves insiders. He reveals the source of Keldon’s boundless energy—copious amounts of pre-workout stimulants just before the game and espresso at halftime.

Absolutely insane turnaround from KJ this season. There was one play where he was under the basket and he kept trying and trying to find a way to finish the play with I think a big on him (I was yelling no, no, no, pass the ball out), he somehow found a way to finish it. I was quite impressed and that play showed where he's coming from this season. He's giving everything he's got out there.

Him and Vassell are growing into their contracts, and in Keldon's case surpassing his tbh. Luckily I'm sure he takes a discount to stay on his next contract.

13ppg on .666 TS%, 8% better than league average.
And elite rebounding, especially defensive.

Sweeney is a miracle worker because Keldon looked completely lost on defense throughout his career and even at the start of this season. But now he has great possessions every game, not just as a help defender, but moving his feet and staying in front of his man. Had that one SGA iso where he forced him into a tough fadeaway, the most surprising play of the game for me.

Vassell is 100% not growing into his contract lol. he’s a 17-20 mill guy. That’s where he’ll always be. There’s zero path for that to change with him as a 5th priority. It’s all good for now. We have money. But no - he’s still poor value per dollar.

The one thing we've always been able to count on is that Keldon is a team player and will do what he needs to do to help the team. The big change is that he has a much better understanding of what that is now and he is playing it well.

Thursday marked Keldon Johnson‘s 400th game with the Spurs, Orsborn notes in a separate story. Johnson also rec0rded his 25th career game with 20 or more points off the bench. “That’s my job,” he said. “I take pride in doing what my team needs me to do. And for me, it’s being an energy guy, being a leader, being whatever, being adaptable to whatever role I need to be in for my team to be successful. And I put my teammates first. I put my team first.”

Keldon has grown on me so much this season. He's a role player with many flaws and limitations, but the effort and energy will always be there..

I think the chances of him ever getting traded are very slim now. He's become a culture/locker-room staple. He is going to be for us what Udonis Haslem and Nick Collison meant for the Heat and Thunder respectively.
