Player The Layne Staley Depression-Laden Foxhole of De'Aaron Martez Fox

I think this core has earned 1 playoff failure before breaking them up. Ie we should run it back next year regardless.

However, Im pretty sure Fox is going to get flamed the most. And I cant promise I wont be hating if he shits the bed.

The criticism comes with the paycheck, tbh. However… I don’t expect any of his haters to be present when he comes up big.

My gripe with Fox is how he usually comes up big in the 4th (sans the 2 Denver games sadly), why can’t he do that the whole game?

Like, there’s an obvious switch in his play in the sense that he actually looks that he begins to care more later in the game. As I am typing this, I suddenly remember Kings fans having the same “issues” when I read about Fox after the trade.

Just sucks that he's not a good 3PT shooter tbh. You'd think a starting PG in his 9th year would've developed a reliable 3PT shot by now but he just hasn't unfortunately and it kills us at times. And he's been especially bad the past 6 weeks. He's sitting at 27% from 3 since March 1st after tonight's 4/14 performance as we head into the Postseason. Not ideal.

But I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and hope that he's a Playoff riser again like he was in Sacto. We're def going to need him to show out if we want to win any of these series tbh.

Bad 3 pt shooting and not taking people off the dribble. Just unfortunate tbh. Hope it’s just coasting issue…

He plays with an infuriating lack of urgency. Parker, who is the same player archetype, was far more energetic and daring when probing opposing defenses. Can"t break down and impose his will on 3rd stringers defense when Castle having an off night? Major red flag

Fox is 28, which is equivalent to age 25-26 some 10-12 years ago if we go by the new longevity standards. There is no reason he should be this slow-footed and lackadaisical on court. Not putting an tangible work into his 3PT is pretty alarming too..

the problem is, his version of coming up big is having a good game for somebody making like half his money. a max player coming up big is one who scores an efficient 35 including game winning/sealing shots

My biggest gripe with Fox against Denver was his offensive process/shot selection. Why isn't he driving and getting to the rim more against a team with bad to no rim protection? Fox shooting 14 threes is obviously too much, but some of it was due to the Spurs desperately trying to mount a comeback. But he attempted just seven twos - and that is disappointing.

He is going to be the X factor for the Spurs in these playoffs. I expect guys like Castle, Harper, and CB to struggle offensively, so Fox scoring consistently and efficiently will be mission critical.

normally would be against expansion given talent dilution but giving up Fox in an expansion draft might be the best way to offload his contract …

i think fox will be fine. needs to foul merchant his way into production though

Giannis for Fox? That would solve our rebounding interior defense when Wemby is on the bench.
F@%k, I would do that, but the Spurs won't and neither would Milwaukee.

Fox needs to be going to the rim a lot more and trying to finish and draw fouls. It's pretty clear he's a shit three point shooter. I would have been happy as f#@k to get 3 clean looks in 10 seconds at a three.

I really think that Giannis is finished. His legs are just shot to shit. I am a fan of the guy. But I think his physical style of play for 10 years has now caught up to him.
