Player De'Aaron Fox Expected To Miss The Start Of The Regular Season

My major malfunction with the report is the game start times

WTF is this shit? 07:00 is not 7pm. It's 7am. 19:00 is 7pm. If you're gonna use 4 digits, put it in world time, or just use 3 digits. 'Muricans are idiots
My wife interviewed twice for NBA jobs. I promise you the people who fucked that up are from India.

No, these are positively Americans who are too fucking stupid to know the difference between 07:00 and 19:00. Because in India, that shit is like 22:30

What would happen if it was the playoffs, would the Spurs still sit him if he said he's ready to go?

The super fun basketball league is already cratering with “injuries”. Some of these guys are hurt, sure. But there’s obviously excessive risk management happening. And if everyone apparently gets injured when they get breathed on these days, might as well play. Even if you’re not a little dinged up, you’re gonna get there either way.

2 years in a row where the finals were ruined by attrition btw. It’s just going to keep being a thing where there’s constant hypotheticals about who would win if a generational guard had working knees or if a different generational guard didn’t blow his calf up with overuse until his achilles snapped.

This is on the verge of being a pointless hobby

I hope i'm wrong, but i'm starting to fear this is one of those mysterious hammy injuries that lingers on forever with medical staff baffled by why it isn't healing fully..Fox is pushing 5 months of dealing with the issue (first reported in late July)..

There may be a groin injury component to this as well. They're commonly linked. Aren't the teams required to be transparent about reporting, though?

With Harper and Fox out we will struggle to win games. Castle is doing great, but he's not able to carry the entire load. He must be knackered. If we can compete with Houston like The Lakers I'd be happily surprised.

None of us have any idea what is going on. It's not getting disclosed and none of the SA reporters are asking the Spurs more frequent questions about it.

i just think that Castle will do better off ball and so that is why I am looking forward to harper, fox and castle finally being able to all be available.

Agree. I don't mind him being over his head running point right now because his attitude shows it will only make him better.

I agree I always saw Castle as a combo guard/sf can get to the hoop when needed play tough defense and handle the ball duties for 10-15 minutes a game to give the main guy a breather. You can tell he hates losing and looks to have worked hard this summer to get better his shot looks better but he is still needs improvements but he is young starting year two

There is a very short list of rookies who came into year two looking as good as he did. Gotta love the kids who put in the work.

Signs a max gets a mysterious injury with no real time table.😭

Fox going to take off his mask and it's going to be Kawhi underneath saying he came back for the supermax he never got 😭

Already ruled out for tomorrows game.

My concern is this was a more serious hamstring injury than they let on, and now it’s not healing as they hoped, so there will be surgery keeping him out even longer.

Same that happened with Steven Adams’ knee causing him to miss way more time than just getting the surgery in the first place

Unbelievable. Must be more serious that the "mild" strain we've been hearing about for months.

Shouldn’t be handing out max contracts to 6’2 guards who are in the midst of a 3-6 month injury especially a serious hamstring injury like this that will probably take away some of his speed and quickness as he approaches 30. These types of injuries are like taking tread off tires for quickness reliant small guards.

Still a couple years away from Fox slowing down but these types of guards don’t age well into their 30’s. Look at Tony Parker for example, declined rapidly after his age 31 season.

Hopefully the Spurs can get 50 games out of Fox this year, then a full season next year which will take him to age 30. Then reassess and decide if you trade him hopefully you can get a solid return from a desperate playoff team looking to take the next step to contend. By this time hopefully Harper is healthy and looking like an All NBA guy that his potential says he should be.

it's easy to speculate because the Spurs are so vague in their answers. It would be better to just be transparent on their end. We heard, unofficially, the Fox would be back in the 1st week of November and here we are. If he doesn't play Saturday, we hit the second week. and then i would think the press would have to start asking harder questions. i mean, mitch can't keep saying "they're close" every time he's asked about the status of fox and kornet.

TP was still an effective player up until he tore his quad. i think he was 34 when that happened.

He's a young guy and he injured this Hammy months ago.. I was fine with them taking it slow at first but now I am starting to wonder what's up?
