Player The Layne Staley Depression-Laden Foxhole of De'Aaron Martez Fox

I like Fox. Hopefully losing like this makes him hungrier and execute better next time.

Not to mention Manu had just made the shot to put us up 3 points in the first place, and was basically the only offense in that game apart from Duncan because TP was shitting the bed in a do or die game per par.

It was a heads up shot by Manu, because it was a 2 for 1 opportunity and in rhythm. If he misses and Dallas rebounds, well the whole situation is different, but at least the Spurs get the last shot. And also Dampier had just fouled out leaving Dirk to play center (they hadn't put Diop in, yet) so we could have gotten the offensive rebound, too.

If anyone gets a deserved pass it's Manu, and arguably it should have been a no call because the hand is part of the ball and he pretty much had all ball even though Dirk's force was stronger. In hindsight you just let Dirk score there and play the free throw game, but Manu was about an inch away from rejecting Dirk with authority, us getting the carom and almost certainly advancing. I like our chances against the undermanned Suns, >90%. Miami was tough and stout that year but I give us a 60% chance to win with HCA.
Such a soft foul called on Manu. Then to top it off, TD was hacked on the last play of regulation and should have had two free throws to win the game. Games like that made me think the league was rigged. Dallas got what they deserved in the finals because they never should have been there in the first place. Same as 2012 Thunder, those f#$kers got what they deserved because they shouldn't have been there either with the egregious calls the Spurs got in game 5 (Ibaka goaltend on Manu and Harden And 1 three because of the blown goaltending call, then not to mention all the touch fouls in the second half of game 6 in OKC when the Spurs were up by 20 at half time).

This game, you could say the Spurs got some calls to go their way, but still, plenty were missed. Victor should have had more free throws and Steph just isn't allowed to play anywhere near as aggressive as guys like Dort or OKC players. I don't understand why that is.

I mean, why does anyone leave the three point line up 6 in that situation? If Jokic or whoever gets a layup, you're fine, you're still up 4 points with the basketball with under 1:30 left, can use at least 24 seconds off the shot clock and still get a shot unless an easy basket presents itself.
Yeah, stupid, stupid play. Still a bit angry about it.

Not just gonna pile on Fox here, but I am starting to worry about his 3PT shooting. Since March 1st, he's 24/90 (26%) from beyond the arc, and a lot of his misses aren't even close (air-balls, barely drawing iron, etc.). Definitely think he's in his own head at this point.
Yeah, I mentioned it in the game thread. I didn't look up the shooting percentage, but I was thinking it's around 29% which is why I kept saying he can't shoot three pointers unless they're wide open or a clean look off of a move he makes to get open. He has no range at all. He can shoot midrange shots, but he's been horrendous shooting the 3 for what seems like a longer amount of time than March 1st.

Fox is getting eviscerated online with "dynasty starts after you" talk. That's what happens when you get brought here to hold the young kids hands but turns out you are the one who wets the bed in the middle of the night
Yup, because it does. Winning it all this year should count as two rings for Wemby

yup, cliff jumping Commentors getting in thier hedges before the Playoffs even start. Just so they can point and say, oh, look, I knew it all along. And we'll never return to the comment if things work out better than they actually want. Typical commenter stuff.

Fox is a good barometer for Spurfan IQ this season tbh. :st-lol:

He's obviously not a perfect player and won't be here after 2-3 more seasons.

But without him on the team this year, we're looking at the bottom half of the playoff bracket in the West and a first round exit tbh.

Yup. But this pumpkinhead is supposedly gonna give us “playoff experience” like he’s some sort of prometheus.

If we wanted that kind of “experience” we should’ve just kept deorzan at a much cheaper contract, don’t know wtf our guys are gonna learn from a guy that got anal gaped by curry/draymond lmfao

Exhibit A: heart of a champion 🤮🤮🤮
Stupid play on his part. But you just look at all this shit that had to go wrong to lose that game. Up by 6 points with 90 seconds to play and Denver gets a 4 point play. I mean, come on. Give up a 2 there go down work some clock and get a decent shot. Maybe worst case scenario you’re up 4 with like 55 seconds to go. Just a cluster fuck.

Yeah, I never considered him a really good three-point shooter anyway. We have enough people that can make the 3. . He should focus much more on his mid range and obviously distributing the basketball. Also not making idiotic decisions on defense that leave people wide the hell open.

He needs to attack the cup as Option A, B and C tbh. Anytime he settles for that 3, it's a massive W for the opponent tbh.

He should either be attacking or trying to get a midrange shot. With the game on the line, he should not be jacking up threes, especially if they're not open ones. He's the opposite of Curry on those types of shots.
I was hoping his three ball got better on the Spurs and for a short while earlier in the season it was, but now it's gone way down.

Imagine living a life so pathetic that you wake up on Easter Morning and think to yourself “I should go on Twitter and find some other losers who hate a player as much as I do” a full day later.

Get off the internet. Make some real life friends. Breath some fresh air. Once you realize these games are entertainment, your life will be much better.

Its crazy people blaming fox on that missed alley oop. It was all on vassell. How come he missed that dunk.

Most Spurs fans are Cowboys fans so these douchebags are including the 30 years of “suffering” to each loss the Spurs have had this season. These losers started the season wanting to trade Fox because they were too dumb to figure out how 3 guards could co-exist so now these same morons feel vindicated.

Happy Easter! 🐣

Hey not all of us cowboys fans are like that (it does bleed slightly)

Least reactionary twitter users

It's pretty annoying how weird people get about players when they get bags. If you are a max player you essentially get zero room to have a bad game, ever.
Did Fox stink yesterday? Yeah. Who cares? Everyone has bad games every so often. It was just one of those days, encapsulated by the missed 6ft bunny that smacked front rim.

100%. On top of it all it wasn't only Fox struggling. Others for example also had shit 3pt shooting game. KJ. Steph, Davin (after first tree made 3s), all went ice cold. It happens. Not good but acceptable.
Totally unacceptable is to go online to fucking hate on player probably just because your shitty life is a string of failures and you can't even compensate for it by claiming victory in a basketball game in which you didn't participate because sitting your fat ass on the couch is not a participation. If you want to win something so badly move you lazy hating ass and play some games yourself. And then you can be proud if you win, or hate on yourself on X for the whole Easter holidays for losing I don't care but STFU about people really trying hard and falling once while doing so.

why is it unacceptable to call out the highest paid player on the team who got obtained for situations like yesterdays game?

he can wash it away with a string of good performances and I hope he does because that’s what’s best for the team but he’s been underwhelming more often than not.

once castle and harper get that venerated one-round minimum of playoff experience that seems to earn max players platinum regular season plot armor we can all have more-honest discussions re:Fox

It is not unacceptable to call player on poor performance. Hating on him is. It's not like he's a big disappointment whole season. It's just one shitty game and some are acting like his stollen their last dollar, raped daughter and eaten favourite pet.

Stop it, sir. There is only zero or one hundred. No in-between. If a player fails to meet my expectations, it’s as bad as them burning my house down and I’m going to call them assholes even if I don’t personally know them. …Fox’s favorite color is blue? Wow! Fuck that fucking asshole!
