Player The Layne Staley Depression-Laden Foxhole of De'Aaron Martez Fox

Right I don't think there are many people here who are saying that Fox is going to lead us to the championship (but rather saying he has the potential as a good player), but there is a group of people here who won't even let it fucking play out before they're already acting like its set in stone. Its fucking annoying, because if he does choke y'all will be in here acting like you knew all along and if he doesn't you won't say shit but you'll still celebrate the win.

Its the same as many people being unable to admit their takes on Mitch earlier in the year were half baked and wrong. Or how people shit on Keldon and Devin for years and have been proven wrong on that front this year as well. You actually don't HAVE to have a hot take and act like you know exactly how ever player is going to turn out right now. We can just watch the games and see. But so many people on this site are so ESPN and social media pilled that they have to act like everything is life and death in the moment. Its honestly exhausting and I truly don't think y'all act like this in daily life because if you do god damn.
Spoiler alert: you’ll never get through to these people. Some people’s brains are wired differently - and that’s not to put them down, but that’s just the way it is. Words of reason will have a hard time penetrating those who are irrational towards everything. On the other hand, sometimes it’s just maturity. We were all dumbasses in our early 20’s, tbh, and I think there are quite a bit of youngin’s on this site.

That Fox foul for the 4pt play was the main thing that bothered me today. Bad shooting nights will happen but you can’t make that mistake. As boneheaded as Manu’s Game 7 foul on Dirk in 2006.

Manu turned out okay tho.

Don’t worry. Fox will get 20 ppg against sixers, blazers, mavericks before shitting his pants last game of the year as a nice preview for the first round. 🫡🍺

Josh primo wasn’t giving up 4 pt plays

The four point play was stupid as fuck. A coach should have yanked him for that. The airballs were... okay. Deep clock situations. Trying to lob to Vassell at the end was thunderheaded and then completely blowing the bunny he got back made me think he might have been getting money on the game.

B-but he was so “clutch” with a sack of shit loser org that never had any expectations 😹😹😹😹

Yeah exactly. It's not like we traded for Mike Bibby in 2004. The modern day Sacramento Kings have been perennially terrible since the Chris Webber trade. They've missed the playoffs what, 19 or 20 of the last 21 years?

Yup. But this pumpkinhead is supposedly gonna give us “playoff experience” like he’s some sort of prometheus.

If we wanted that kind of “experience” we should’ve just kept deorzan at a much cheaper contract, don’t know wtf our guys are gonna learn from a guy that got anal gaped by curry/draymond lmfao

Exhibit A: heart of a champion 🤮🤮🤮

Airballs hurt tbh because Wemby didnt even get a chance for an OREB. But yah, that foul was Fox’s worst offense this game.

That play keeps replaying on my mind, I told myself 1 last stop and this game’s over. And of course the only play that could hurt us the most happened smh

Fox was bad but two or three of those air balls were when somebody threw it to him would like under two seconds on the shot clock. I agree with Scott that 4 point play was just unacceptable. However, I think he will bounce back. And as pissed off as I was watching the last 2+ minutes of regulation in overtime, this will probably be a good learning lesson. For both the players and the coaches!

Derozan sucks too, but would have rather just had Harper on the court and Fox play that Jamal Crawford role off the bench against backup guards. Fox isn't one of the 5 best Spurs nor is he one of the two best guards on the team.

Giving up that 4 point play was about on the same level as the Falcons not playing for a field goal up by 8 points late against the Patriots. Or benching your franchise leader in rebounds up 5 with 28 seconds left in a title game.

And that stupid fucking grin he does whenever he screws up. Sorry this isn’t Sacramento where we’re thankful to have a guy who can walk and chew gum at the same time there are expectations.

Just such a ridiculous player

fox better do none of this in the playoffs.Or he should be gone this summer.

I'd be willing to deal him AND our draft picks if some other team is willing to take him and his contract.

Castle, Wemby, Harper and KJ will need to be paid

It's clear Harper is way better than Fox already and he's a rookie. Fox has that Dak Prescott lax mentality, not just the same jersey number.

re:benefit of the doubt.

when manu fouled dirk he was already a 2X nba champ and an Olympic gold medalist.

wtf has Fox done to earn any of that, with us or Sacramento?

Not to mention Manu had just made the shot to put us up 3 points in the first place, and was basically the only offense in that game apart from Duncan because TP was shitting the bed in a do or die game per par.

It was a heads up shot by Manu, because it was a 2 for 1 opportunity and in rhythm. If he misses and Dallas rebounds, well the whole situation is different, but at least the Spurs get the last shot. And also Dampier had just fouled out leaving Dirk to play center (they hadn't put Diop in, yet) so we could have gotten the offensive rebound, too.

If anyone gets a deserved pass it's Manu, and arguably it should have been a no call because the hand is part of the ball and he pretty much had all ball even though Dirk's force was stronger. In hindsight you just let Dirk score there and play the free throw game, but Manu was about an inch away from rejecting Dirk with authority, us getting the carom and almost certainly advancing. I like our chances against the undermanned Suns, >90%. Miami was tough and stout that year but I give us a 60% chance to win with HCA.

Forget the foul for a moment, why the fuck did he leave Cam like that? Wemby does NOT need help in the paint, especially from FOX of all people.

Reminds me of Gary Neal constantly helping on LeBron drives in the 2013 finals. Just looked up his contract with us

Paying Fox 10x for Gary Neal-esque defensive acumen 😹😹😹🤮

I mean, why does anyone leave the three point line up 6 in that situation? If Jokic or whoever gets a layup, you're fine, you're still up 4 points with the basketball with under 1:30 left, can use at least 24 seconds off the shot clock and still get a shot unless an easy basket presents itself.

Not just gonna pile on Fox here, but I am starting to worry about his 3PT shooting. Since March 1st, he's 24/90 (26%) from beyond the arc, and a lot of his misses aren't even close (air-balls, barely drawing iron, etc.). Definitely think he's in his own head at this point.

That 4pt play is the only fox’s offense.
