Player The Haggard Falcon Rest Home of Harrison Barnes

get this mental midget off the team or at least get somebody else and bench him. he cannot be counted on and his inconsistency is becoming too much

Barnes is alright coming off the bench, but as I said before: he‘s the weakest link in the starting lineup.
The easiest way to improve this team is to get a starting PF and let Barnes come off the bench.

Barnes really just doesn't need to play PF at all he gets annihilated by anyone who is 6 "9" or taller :st-lol: .

Not really his fault as I am sure the team didn't expect Sochan to be getting DNP's - complete ass this season :st-lol:

Will just have to live with it this year but next year should probably move on.

Yea Barnes has come crashing back down to earth after a scorching-hot start to the season. Was inevitable tbh. He's a fine depth piece, but he cannot be relied upon to play starter minutes. Not if you're trying to win a Championship anyways. Upgrading the 4 position will definitely need to be top priority this offseason, and I think MATFO know that.

HB is just hibernating until Post ASB, tbqh imo (I hope)

They got their game breaking offensive rebounds over Barnes.
Keldon couldn't make a shot, but he had 8 rebounds in 24 minutes.
Barnes had 4 in 32. He shouldn't have been out there to close the game out.
Champ is a way better rebounder than Barnes and should get his starting spot when everyone is healthy because of it.

most washed up i've seen any player since:

Yes, we don't need to bench one of Dev or Julian. Start both and bench Barnes.

Mr 100% refers to how many seasons he spends not inspiring confidence for a playoff run.

I like Barnes. He’s talented and a good teammate. He has a chip in his brain preventing him from greatness.

But stranger things have happened than him turning it on for a few weeks in the spring.

I didn’t really think of this before because we tend to think of replacing Barnes’ length… but by golly, you are right. Champ is a better rebounder and defender - I’m not sure it matters that he is a little shorter.

You can live with his flaws as your #5 starter when his three is dropping, but when he's Mr 25% he's hard to be playing.

Barnes and Champ both feel like the same gambit - oozing ability but it’s trick or treat, mentally.

I have no idea how this works but it would be interesting if Mitch could sort of check in on each guy, game-to-game, and get a feel for which is more up for making an impact that night.

I had a coach once who played int he Canadian Football League. He said there were 30 players fighting for the last spot on the team. All the prospective players were placed in a room together and the team placed a large bone (cow femur) in the center of the room and said I'm locking this door and coming back in an hour. Whoever has the bone gets the last spot on the team. That's how this guy got into the league. Maybe Mitch could do that with Champ & Barnes before every game for a starting spot?

That's some Joker level shit.

Batman Joker, not Nikola Jokic btw

Yeah, i just hope folks don't get too surprised when he's shooting blanks in the post-season. Barnes is sadly a certified playoffs dropper, and that's when he was in his prime. I'm still advocate of keeping him on board but in a reduced role and on a contract that is accommodating of that reality

Love Unc as a floor raiser and a locker room leader for a young team but even as bullish as I was on this being a good team coming into the season I was thinking 50 wins and a top 5 seed, not 60 wins and a real shot at a title. Probably have to wait until summer to get that desperately needed PF to win a title, using the MLE. I still want to bring HB back on a two year deal this summer and see if bench sniper is a role he can excel in. Glad Keldon has another year on his deal so the Spurs don't have to make a difficult decision on him yet though an MLE vet on a three year deal might push him out in two years since Steph looks like he'll be worth a 25% max contract.

Barnes as a locker room leader seems like a fairly large leap. He’s a passive person. I think he’s a “how to tip appropriately at a restaurant and how to do vanilla interviews” leader where he showed some young guys how to conduct themselves as pros but if you can picture him having a heroic half time moment, I’d be very impressed
