Player The blessed howl's moving Castle of Stephon Javonte

No wonder....the timing matched with Castle sudden usage of the short pull up jumper near the rim.

He was working on it with guard whisperer over the summer and seems to have forgotten about it lol. :st-lol:

Maybe KG and Hakeem should pay Wemby a visit too

I'd been saying the same thing, and I few other posters mentioned it too. Why in the f#6k can we figure it out. Why didn't anyone on the Spurs staff talk to him about why he's abandoned it and to go back to it? It seems like this training staff sucks. I'm not used to it as the Spurs had an elite training staff back when Kawhi just entered the league. Looks like Olin was seeing the same thing too and had to reminded Steph of it.

Having Cassell, Marbury, Sprewell, Joe Smith, Szczerbiak, Gugliotta, Sam Mitchell… I’d argue Timmy would ring with these guys. It’s how you make your teammates better and allows them to be at their best. Timmy never try to force shots, nor outshines his teammates. He didn’t need to take the winning shot like a KG, Kobe, MJ would. Defensively Wemby is the best already. He needs to realize that maybe the 3-guard offense is better now that he’s still not post-dominant, is all my argument going to Timmy instead of KG.

Did you even watch KG play? When Kevin McHale was the GM of Minnesota, he said KG is not like Tim Duncan or Manu Ginolibi, where you can give them the ball the last five minutes of the game and have them go out and win the game. He was basically saying KG is unselfish and doesn't take enough shots/assert himself with the game on the line. I don't remember the exact quote or what year he said it, but I had the feeling that he wanted KG to be more selfish. He was a natural passer.

Noone is saying that KG was in the same tier as Duncan, I just don't think he was a chucker.
Anyone saying (or implying) KG was a chucker didn't watch KG, dude should've been more selfish a lot of those years. I'm as big a TD fan as there is but the gap as a basketball player between the two was way closer than most of us want to admit. As a leader and a foundational building block? Tim clears KG by leaps and bounds.

Also, not personally into Wemby linking up with KG but ultimately its whatever. I will also admit if you put KG's basketball mind into Wemby's body he would probably be even more insane on defense if that can be imagined.

Exactly. You guys get it. He was not a chucker. If anything, maybe they didn't win more because he wasn't selfish enough. I agree with the rest of what you said about leadership and foundational building block. This is probably more the reason for them not winning (not so much his actually play). Pretty darn good take there, and that was the difference between the two, because game wise, he wasn't far off of Tim. Again, for anyone thinking the opposite, KG wasn't a selfish player, but also his personality wasn't the best for leading a team IMO.

Such a weird choice for BI. I thought scott was joking. I don't mind Castle finishing the season with a chip on his shoulder and more to prove.
WTF? He's in the East, though?

X-rays were negative. He said he was good when asked. Gametime decision against the Warrior. He probably got a hip pointer or bone bruise. I'm thinking he won't play tonight. If he does it was literally nothing but a scary fall.

Coaching error imo.
Should not have played period. Just rest up this one game and the All Star break.
When in Warrior game, so obviously off and forcing chit should have been pulled.

The ball that CB was practicing his dribbles at the start of the video look kinda smaller size than usual ball size

I love that these guys are working while on the road during All Star Weekend. They don't even realize that they could be torching their teammates on their burner phones, hitting strip clubs, etc. I could watch these videos all day.
CB has good mechanics and Dirk-like arc on his shots. His potential is very high. This Spurs team has some true ballers.

Seeing Carter Bryant in these workouts in the earlier videos is what prompted me to say last month that the Spurs should start CB when Harrison was really struggling about 4-5 weeks ago. It was making me think he just needs to start doing some of the stuff he's been working on with TGW in-game and he'll be alright/start gaining confidence.

I watched a pod with Rich Paul as a guest, and I couldn’t argue with his conclusion. He said Ben just didn’t care about basketball. He wanted the money and the lifestyle. Now, he’s out of the league. My guess is the next domino to fall is Deandre Ayton.
It showed at his one year at LSU. I said if for a long time he always seemed like one of those type players.

If he wanted the money and lifestyle, why wouldn't he want more money and more of the lifestyle? Why cut it so short when he still has skills and athleticism by not playing for a few year stretch (I haven't watched him play in years, though)? If he could still play and gave up already, he's one of the biggest losers around and it seems he has less confidence in shooting the ball that almost anyone else I've ever seen. I'd kill to have had his athleticism and height. What a waste of talent. From what I remember, his dad was a good player (I didn't follow his team or anything). I watched his dad play in AU in the NBL, and from what I remember (I don't remember fully as I was too young, so I could be wrong), his dad seemed like he cared when he played.

i cant remember who it was, but it was me going back and forth with them. i dont believe it was ex. think it may have been drunkford?

edit: yeah, drunkford

Well I'm sure you've visited those countries quite a lot and played ball there. There's a reason Shaq says everybody who's name ends with -ic can shoot. Good to know that you spend your days stalking my posts :st-lol:

Castle gives you a little bit of the Kawhi-vibe in terms of effort and work ethic (without the mental limitations). Feels like someone who's just going to get better and better, and work hard to eliminate the holes in his game...which continue to dwindle already.

I don’t stalk them. I remembered the conversation from back then.

But hilarious that you are doubling down on a stupid take and backing it up with “but Shaq said…”

^Fox also chillin there in the center around Marcus Smart, Andrew Nembhard, and Cason Wallace

Harper near the top left as well
I always appreciate when graphs like these are broken into tiers, which BB-Index did not do, so I went ahead and did it.

Stephon obviously grades out as elite by this metric, but it is nice to see Dylan and Fox both grade out in that slight-above-average tier. Really bodes well for Dylan's prospects to elevate to those elite level tiers one day. It's so huge that Fox isn't a complete liability like some other scoring guards.

Crazy that we have a top-of-the-league perimeter defender, and also have the likely DPOY paint protector. This may not be the Spurs' year to win it all (or maybe yes)......... But they sure are cooking with gas.

Btw, anyone remember the "Spurs have the worst defense in the league" thread on ST? Would love to give it a bump now that the Spurs are one of the top defenses... Many people acted like we'd never recover :st-lol:
