Trade Spurs Trade Ideas

gotta stop acting like these GMs are trying to self sabotage (unless you are talking about the Kings).

Hauser is one of the 2-3 best contracts the celtics have. he's one of the guys they're least likely to move
Ok, they just added a big that can shoot from 3 to do basically what Hauser does, but let's say you're right...where do they find $6M in savings elsewhere to het them under the line?

Speaking of Boston, what do you all think about Xavier Tillman or Luka Garza. Maybe one of them becomes available now that Vucevic is going to Boston. One is a decent defender the other can shoot threes. Spurs might want to take advantage of some other teams moves. Neither guy is worth more then a 2nd rounder, but younger and probably worth more than Biyombo. Just a thought.

Hauser seems like he's quite valuable to the Celtics, no matter where they are cap wise.

they are just above the tax line, but are now below the first apron. they arent going to move Hauser lol. teams looking to clean their books are not going to trade away cost controlled rotation players. they move bloat like KP, Holiday, and now Simons.

Sweet... and I said let's assume youre right.... how do they shed $6M more to get out of the repeater tax? It would almost be malpractice to not get under it when youre this close. How do you think they do it..

i dont think they intend to. the tax is just money. the aprons are where restrictions start to come into play. celtics are still in the middle of their window of contention with tatum/brown, et al. hauser is one of their most important role players and he's locked into a good deal for them. if he was about to expire or was expected to turn down some player option, then yeah by all means move him. but that's not the case. he's in year 1 of a 4 year deal that already looks like a bargain.

also for what its worth, Hauser is playing today (and starting)... doesnt seem like they'd be doing that if they were even considering moving him by thursday

I'm certainly not in a mindset that Hauser is they guy they have to move(especially here) , but I do think they do something to get out of the repeater tax. It just makes sense in a year like this. They need the flexibility that provides if someone gets a major injury after the deadline.

I'm curious about this.
Tobias Harris
Paul George
Normal Powell
Nikola Vucevic
Harrison Barnes
Kevin Durant
Rudy Gobert
Lebron James
Royce O'Neale
Steph Curry
Draymond Green
Jimmy Butler
James Harden
Kawhi Leonard
Jrue Holiday
Anthony Davis
Russell Westbrook
Demar Derozan
You're actually right.
Nice research.

OTTOMH, roughly 40% of those players have won NBA championships, maybe 75% have been All-NBA, all except maybe the last four are on above .500 teams.

Maybe experience has some nonquantifiable value, maybe they were exceptional to begin with.

Interesting because while Wright has been really good at being a facilitator and collecting picks in multi team trades this is the first time since he has been GM that we have an actually good team and we need to add good players.

I also think there is a sneaky chance we just see like a + 10 to team chemistry once Sochan is out the door. :st-lol:

I will give Sochan credit, he’s been a good trooper. He’s my pick for the annual Zach Collins Memorial Good Soldier Towel Waver award

I'm not so convinced. Still remember the post christmas game interview with Victor very specifically saying "most of the players on this team are coachable" and I 100% think he means there is exactly one non coachable player on the team and it's Jeremy. :st-lol:

This channel is so overkill and over dramatic. They make a video about literally everything lol. Every Spurs story/rumor that has anything with the Spurs name in it, they make a video about it as if it's always breaking news lol

You mean the guy who did everything asked of him without complaint?

There was a report that came out that the Spurs aren't the bit interested in bringing Giannis is. I'll wait until after the deadline to believe any stories. That's when the truth usually comes out about who were the silent teams actually pushing for trades. Everything is not always out in the open. I would suspect this is not to hurt the egos of young talent who may be mentioned in trade talks.
