Trade Spurs Trade Ideas

I wonder if Randle makes any sense here? His contract expires as Castle's extension kicks in. I'm not a cap guy, but it seems like that would be manageable depending on how much we extend Julian for..
He definitely does since we clearly lack a starting level PF. Fit is not ideal but he's certainly an upgrade over Barnes or starting a SG at PF

Out of our price range and not enough shots and touches for him.

Just because he isn't complaining in front of closed doors doesn't mean he isn't complaining behind them.

If your an adult who has had a number of jobs you have surely had one where a person gave the outward appearance that everything is fine meanwhile behind closed doors they complained about everything and everyone all the time.
And you know sochan is that one person how?

If you’re and adult who has had a number of jobs you have surely had one where a person spray random shit everywhere, spreading rumours with no basis and would admit to making shit up when call out. Oh wait, adults don’t that, those are kids masquerading as adults.

Spurs should have drafted Cam Spencer in the 2nd round instead of Harrison Ingram. That was a shooter that could come off the bench and would have only costed a 2nd round pick.
It would have filled a team need for shooting. Living in CT I knew Spencer would be good off the bench.

A trade landing Aldama and Spencer would shore up team shooting.
On the topic of Aldama, might Memphis consider Sochan, Olynik and the Atlanta 2027 #1? Aldama fits a position of need, shoots from the arc and would be an immediate starter. Memphis blowing up their roster and collecting picks for their rebuild.
Aldama + Spencer would fix the spurs shooting.
May have to add Vassell instead of Olynik so Vassell + Sochan for Aldama + Spencer but if you can do Sochan + Olynik + Atlanta 27 even better.

Spurs are not

A lot of us been hoping for that trade

I think Robert William III for Olynyk is solid backup plan. He’s briefly played with Kornet and rebounds well.

nope, not possible unless you trade for him. He'll get more than the 15 million dollar MLE on the open market.

I think he has 2 years after this one around $33M/yr. So it'd be Olynyk +Barnes to get it done. That assumes Minnesota needs to unload him as part of a Giannis deal.

financially makes sense, im not sure the fit is quite there. he's a fairly iso heavy face up scorer. not that he isnt skilled in other ways, and he's become a competent defender, but i dont thin thats whats worth spilling our assets for

I'd been thinking Sochan for Hauser and Walsh would be the move, but Julian would get them there too... I'm a little more conflicted on that one, but hauser probably geys less than we'd pay on julians extension... hmm

that trade would work, although I wouldn't like it. Thought you were talking about getting him in the offseason.

I'd just seen a couple rumors floating around about Minnesota pivoting from GS to us as a 3rd team for Randle and was wondering what that would look like cap wise down the road

To go from Harrison Barnes to Julius Randle would be a change for sure. With the team playing well rn, I wouldn’t do that.

I’m sure Minny is attempting to stockpile 1sts for Mil. Depends on the 1st. Randle has his moments and gives our team a better PF who can score.

He’s probably a better fit alongside Wemby than Gobert.

I don’t love it. I don’t hate it.

I think the Spurs sees themselves as a year ahead of expectations. I could see them facilitating deals again and continue to stack draft capital. Barnes fell into our lap this way.

The issue is that they'd want at least a couple of picks for Randle, which we won't give up.
He's a good player, but has the same FGA as Fox and 5.4 assists, he needs the ball. We'd have to adjust our entire offense and I doubt Mitch would be capable of doing that.

We won't get McDaniels since the Bucks want him, our only somewhat realistic trade would be returning MIN swap and ATL picks for Naz. And even that is a long shot.
