Trade Spurs Trade Ideas

It's tough to make a Giannis trade work. I think a starting point would be:

Devin + Castle + Sochan + Olynyk + 2027 (atl) + 2029 1st

Giannis + Rollins + Trent Jr

they're not giving Rollins in a Giannis trade

if i'm milwaukee im mandating that Harper be a part of the trade, potentially mandating both him and castle. tell the spurs to go win with the trio of Giannis/Wemby/Fox and whatever parts are left over.

My sense is that Fox would have to be the big contract going out to make it mean something for MIL. Dont see it at the deadline, but could in the summer after the extension kicks in and the Spurs determine they are ready to turn the keys over to Harper.

Then you are looking at something like Fox/Dev for Giannis/Kuz's expiring. Then you are fighting about how many picks, etc.

It's crazy how Shams reported the Giannis news like did his agent call Shams and tell him yeah we about to talk to the Bucks about a possible trade we can't be out here loosing to the Wizards :st-lol:

Tweet is basically saying "Giannis is about to tell the Bucks to build a new team around him on the fly and if they can't he asking for a trade":st-lol:

For the record I want nothing to do with Giannis all he does is play "Giannis ball" he can't fit into an offensive system whichever team he goes to they are going to get stripped down of young players and picks then get destroyed by "giannis ball" until he also request a trade from them.

Selfish franchise killing dickhead player who wants to win a title but only doing it his way. He has destroyed the bucks cap while also draining them of every single draft asset they have and he has done all of this getting them out of the 1st round once in what is about to be 5 years since winning the title.

How soon you think the Spurs are going to be used as leverage, which would be par for the course?

I wouldn't be surprised if Wright is open to being the third team that would help facilitate the trade.
Olynyk and Sochan expirings are there for the taking and if we're getting a legit veteran, we might even use a FRP.

As for more realistic stuff, I don't think Spurs will even look for a high end PF.
I think they really think Bryant can become an elite 3-D guy.

His athleticism is off the charts, he already has a solid jumpshot and he's made noticable game sense and awareness improvements over the past month.
Mitch playing him in close games when he doesn't really need to says a lot, he's averaged almost 10 minutes over the past 5 games.

I have no doubt he'll develop into an all-defense guy because he's got all the tools, his ceiling will depend on his shot.

Of course they will, but it'll come down to the strength of the other credible offers that materialize (and that Giannis OKs). Think that means Atlanta, us, and OKC (gulp!) -- struggle to see others that have the firepower unless the player says "only this team."

Freaking NOLA, may have just given Atlanta the choicest asset of them all in that 2026 FRP.

Personally I do not feel any urgency to move HB to the bench this season. He's playing great, is a huge culture lift to the team, and it's not like there are a ton of upgrades available at a price we're likely willing to pay.

I view the starting 4 as more of a "next year" problem myself.
I‘m saying long term. Market is definitely slim

Need to call this "The Brian Wright Special"

Somehow we going to get a future 1st from a team that doesn't get Giannis or anything good like we did for the Kings getting Demar.

Can we start taking bets on what team we are going to get a 2029 top 1 protected pick or pick swap from?

If that ends up a top 3 pick, wouldn't Atlanta rather/want to keep that pick? And if it's number 1, I doubt they'd even want to trade if for Giannis.

And we know he wanted the Knicks. Could we be one of the teams that would facilitate the trade and grab OG Anunoby? What would you be willing to give for him?
He'd be a perfect fit, but he gets injured often and his contract is an overpay.

I'd trade Sochan+Olynyk+'26 FRP for Hart, he fits what we're trying to build with wings that play bigger than their size.

I think this is an interesting angle... for years, the Spurs have always been used as that stalking horse team that might come in, which maintains a floor for value in trades.

But the Spurs neither have the assets, the cap space, or the desire to be part of big trades anymore, so they are out.

So who are the leverage teams now? UTA and ATL come to mind. OKC has the assets but don't have any realistic ability to pay anyone, nor should they want to change anything they're already doing.

Giannis in Utah would actually be interesting, tbh.
Was thinking about it yesterday.
Bailey, Kessler a couple more young players and picks would be a great haul.

It's just that they wouldn't be competitive this season while they build a functional roster.
I don't think Giannis wants to be traded to a team that won't be competitive right away.

Yea, maybe they wouldn't include Rollins, but I'm not thrilled about a Giannis deal from our perspective anyway. That would probably be my top offer and if someone tops it then thats fine and I wouldn't feel bad about it.

I've thought Fox as well, but it's looking more like Giannis will be moved before the deadline. I'd prefer moving Fox over the summer in a Giannis deal, but I don't think he's still available then.

would be around KAT. problem is knicks empied the draft cupboard in the Bridges trade
Knicks traded away their '27, '28 swap, '29 and '31 FRPs for Bridges.
They can't get Giannis unless Bucks roll over and gift it to them for either KAT straight up or OG+Hart or OG+Yabusele+McBride.
