Game Thread Spurs (8-3) vs Warriors (7-6) (Fri 11/14/25) [8:30PM CDT]

Wemby, Castle and Champ played lights out.

I would better ride with Barnes than Vasell in critical moments. He is sooooo antiii clutch

Look at the bright side.

The Spurs are still 1/2 game ahead of Atlanta for that coveted draft swap.

Spurs are 8-4 and Atl is 8-5.

So the Spurs get a 1/2 game advantage from that blockbuster.

Honestly the more I think about it. This loss is all on Vassell.

That charge was the dumbest play.

That will come with more experience.
Fox has plenty of experience. He knows better than to settle for contested 2s. On the final play he couldn’t beat his man on a downhill run at the basket. He almost got bailed out on a lucky bounce.

Do you expect the refs to call fouls when the offense is stagnant and chunking threes? Gotta get in the paint if you want the whistle. Unless you're a madman like Curry constantly on the move and unpredictable with a lightning fast release.
I hear ya. But you have Steph Curry flopping around in middair getting every goddamn call. It’s infuriating. but I’m emotional right now I admit it.

Fox does not look like he’s in game shape. I know they ramped him up but he doesn’t look like he’s got his game legs underneath him.
Why, oh why, did Mitch choose and obviously blown-up Fox over Castle and Wemby for the last shot? Man, Mitch... I’m trying to like you, but you make it so hard... me oh my.

What hurts the most is knowing Mitch is going to be the coach all season and maybe more...

This nepo baby has nothing to do coaching the Spurs
Well, he is going to be here so we better. Goddamn, hope he finds it. This is not an organization that changes coaches quickly as we know. He’s gonna be this coach for years to come.

those curry triples are so deadly. hate to say it but what a goat curry is tbh. such a nasty three ball shot that goes in every time. we are watching a living legend of basketball. too good. hate the loss tonight and feel bad rn but gotta tip the cap to curry he was roasting us. Reminded me of that Paris 2024 Gold game when Curry hit a few clutch threes to close the game on France

Would have been a decent play call with 10 seconds to go, but not 6. Once Fox caught the ball in the backcourt, this was the only option he had. No time to kick it to anyone else. Just a horrible play call.
Fucking Friendship Crew coach. How good would this team be with Jenkins? I swear watching Wemby stand at the three point line is like watching Will Hunting laying brick. You're wasting the greatest young talent to ever come into this league, Coach Fivehead.

On the bright side,

It basically took back to back 50 point games from Curry to eke out these two games.

Wemby’s defense has been even better than ever. He single-handedly is shutting down a quarter of the court on his own.

The Spurs improved upon the areas they were poor in last game.

San Antonio is like one shooter away from being great.

Clutch time didn't kill us, it's a young team that's expected to get outplayed by a bunch of veterans.
First half was inexcusable with all the turnovers.
The fuck were they doing in practice yesterday?
Wemby back in his experimenting role, balls getting poked on every other possession, all the random passes and poor execution.
This team is supposed to win games against veterans early on, not in the clutch.
And that's on Mitch.
I don't care how much of that shitty tea he drinks during post-game press because he lost his voice, the players don't give a shit about him.
Peak Pop would be benching them for all those shitty turnovers.

Brutal end. Here is the thing, don't play double big against the warriors. We did not learn that after game one? You must play with wing size. Keldon can feast on bad teams but my god his rotations are dreadful.

Well, we’re 8-4 with 3 losses being games we could have won. I’m going to elect to be positive about that.

I like that we as fans are expecting to compete and win every game and are pissed when we don’t. That’s a good sign.

We knew we weren’t title contenders, but I think we’ve shown we can be a team that can compete for a Top 6 seed.

We’re not very far from being 9-1, but we’re also not that far from being 4-6… which to me shows that we’ve got talent but a lot to clean up and we are riding on the margins right now. Hopefully the guys take these two losses personally and respond the same way the did the last two game losing streak.

Steph Curry is still unreal though and it’s really hard to beat them with Curry does this.

No sense it getting worked up over these last two losses. We’re a young team that needs to learn how to close games.
