Game Thread Spurs (62-19) vs Nuggets (53-28) (Sunday 4/12/26) [7:30PM CDT]

Rooting for the Lakers feels disgusting tbh. Sacreligious even. But it'd be awesome if they could pull off a W tonight and the Spurs take care of the Nuggs. Easier path for us and that's all that matters atp.
Funnily I feel like it's more important for OKC to get a more difficult part, than easening ours.
I'm on record for fearing a Denver matchup, but you also prefer to get the OKC matchup after they went through a sluggfest with Jokic, rather than coasting for two rounds.

I agree that OKC having a potential grueling 6 or 7 game 2nd round series right before we hypothetically play them is equally important. We'd beat Denver though so long as everyone is healthy imo, especially with HCA. Our role players sucked against them last week on the road and we still should've won it, and we blew a 17-point lead against them without Wemby the game before that. They'd be tough obv having the best offense in the league, but they're also ranked 21st in Def. Rating. I like our chances against them tbh.

I don't think us winning against the Timberwolves is a given if they're healthy, but the Thunder has their number and would surely beat them.
On the other hand, I think the Nuggets know Thunder are a better matchup for them than the Spurs, despite all the experience talk.

Any chance either Reaves or Doncic playing in the 2nd round? I don’t even think they last the 1st round vs Ant and Co. without those two.

If they make the 2nd round, I'd say there's a 95% chance both of those guys will be rushed back tbh.

Beat Denver tonight for a variety of reasons. Go Spurs!

How ever it goes. Playoffs are simply 'you kick ass or go home.' Our team is a tough out in 7 for any team in the NBA.

What?
Sitting everyone in order to lose the game and drop to 4th means they want the Spurs?
Welp, didn’t see that part of the injury report! Minor details 😂

Just saw that they choose to sit Jokic against OKC in favor of playing him against us tonight to lock in the 65. Hopefully we can help push them to 4 so that OKC doesn’t just have a cakewalk to the WCF.

:st-flag: :st-flag: :st-flag:

Stay healthy gus. If we can make us avoid Denver in the second round, that would be great. Otherwise the Spurs would be too beaten up if they get to the conference finals. And thats a big if when having to play Denver.

Tienen a DEN controlado. SAS está por verse.

En resumen, la idea es tener una ronda fácil y ver a OKC tener un camino un poco más difícil hacia la final.

I like Jokic, but I'd rather he didn't because a Jokic > Duncan narrative will begin.
I guess I mean, why would Tim be the target of that conversation? It’s not like Tim is universally number 10 on the top 10 list. Just kick LeBron off 😉

Joker is better offensively, but the defense makes it so that I go with Tim.

That would be two for Joker vs. five for Duncan. Not a valid narrative.

But it’s getting up there if Jokic wins another chip, plus 3 MVP’s, averaging triple-double, and not showing any sign that he’s slowing down yet. Wemby slowing Jokic helps, and I rather Wemby than Jokic pushing Timmy off top 5. (To me Timmy is top 2/3 behind only MJ, Timmy and Magic interchangeable).

I personally don’t think Joker is winning another championship because he doesn’t have a supporting cast That’s quite good enough. So I wouldn’t even worry about it.
