My thinking is they got a CT (which takes seconds to do) to rule out a fracture. You can see buckling better on that because of the spatial resolution.

Because there wasn’t a fracture and he’s in pain they’re calling it a contusion I bet.

They’re probably going to get an MRI for completeness sake which will show bone marrow/surrounding soft tissue edema (worst case non displaced fracture line which can end the season) for confirmation. A costochondral junction injury will have similar findings.

Management is pain management….so we’ll see. Just tough it out for 20 minutes Vic
