Game Thread Spurs (59-19) vs. 76ers (43-34) (Mon 04/06/2026) [7:00 PM]

I think De'Aaron needs to go for 40+. He needs a big bounce back game. Even if he doesn't score than much. He needs to be aggressive as shit out there and put that Denver game way, way behind him.

Will he do it by shooting better than 25% from 3? Or will he go back to basics and drive? Needs to do something, majority of the fanbase is against him and it’s getting harder to intellectualize/justify his role …
 
So long as the team gets 60 wins and Wemby gets his needed games for awards I'm fine. Second best record in the league is also good. Its been a great season, so lets get into the playoffs on a positive note. Go kick Philly around the court and then some. Go spurs go.
 
Win 60 will feel good and I expect the Spurs to come out highly motivated to get it tomorrow. Especially after the disappointment over the weekend. It’s a great milestone for this team.

I really don't get the narratives, how it works.

Even about Wemby....... I thought latety that there was a little too much hype for him. he's fantastic but it seemed like every basic dunk, every shot, every block was treated like if there were unbelievable.

And now that, in my opinion, he has shown the best defense against Jokic that he ever had, blocking him twice, making him miss sereval times, it seems like he was destroyed by a way superior talent..... thta's ridiculous.

Wemby looked Jokic in the eyes. He was great and the team was competitive. We won't win out the rest of the season, PO included, especially against great teams.
 
I just want the damn victory and for Wemby to play his 65th game and then rest every fucking important player for the playoffs.

After watching JJ Reddiks dumbass cost his team a deep playoff run, I want no parts of this regular season anymore. We’re the 2 seed. Good enough for me

They won by two on their court in OT, and one of their key guys is dgoing into the playoffs dragging a leg.

I’ll add….Wemby held his own and the Spurs could have won with other contributions from Fox or even KJ. It’s a team sport to include the coach who needs to be smart with his rotations.
 
the spurs have been playing pretty mediocre defense lately. That win streak relies a lot on out scoring weaker opponents. Hoping to see some lockdown defense against Philly

Still gotta try and get the second overall seed over Detroit (they're only two games back last I checked).
 
Lets put this into perspective, it was just one loss. We' are on the verge of winning 60 games. That's 25 more games won than last year and like 38 more than the previous 2 years - not to mention a division flag to hang somewhere. We have Philly next. Lets show them what a real process looks like - going from 22 wins to 60 wins in a few years. Wemby get your required games in, and maybe DPOY and MVP will come next.

Spurs win like all of february and all of fuckin march …then lose 1 in early april and some clowns are jumping off the tower of the americas here and shit-talking one of our top players and writing off the playoffs and im genuinely starting to hate some of you kunts…

Been saying this, tbh. The Denver game was lost on defense which has been iffy the last couple of weeks and only a non-tanking elite offense like Nuggets was needed to expose that.
 
Who cares at this point? We lost the marquee game. Only interested in the last game vs Denver to wash the sour taste from that OT loss off my mouth . Can't allow the Nuggets to build a mental edge over us. I genuinely believe the Spurs are a better team than them; it just sucks to keep seeing the same script playing out: build a double-digit lead, look to be in control, get reeled in slowly starting late 3rd Q, and then get out-executed in the last two minutes.
