Game Thread Spurs (23-8) vs Cavs (17-16) (Mon 12/29/25) [7:00 PM CDT]

i know you’ve ducked already… but my POV is that if there’s at least half the league that would hand Castle the keys to the offense and run the point, then they believe he has the skills to do so. The idea that he needs another playmaker next to him to make him more efficient is, IMO, irrelevant due to the fact that you can look at any player in the league and say they perform better because of playing next to Bob, the player. Castle needing another guy next to him to stabilize the offense because he can get out of control is the same point as saying Trae needs a defender next to him because he’s a liability.
Sure… but I can also say that about a lot of playmaking G/Fs.

I agree the idea of him needing another playmaker is irrelevant, but not for the reasons you mentioned… but because our team is built to have another playmaker next to him (and another playmaker next to the other playmakers, in turn) and it’s demonstrable that each of them play better this way. Good for us!

Castle going full Kobe the last 3 minutes, but bricking all of them and then committing one of his famous lazy pass TOVs… is that what we mean by natural PG?
Yeah, he has times like this but I don’t get why it takes away from all the other plays where he’s showing off pure PG skills. Stevie Franchise had moments where you’d pull your hair out. Westbrook. Baron Davis. List goes on.

As bad as the Spurs have looked to start this one, they don’t look as bad as some of you cowards on this website, giving up after 8.5 minutes :st-lol:
The Real Gutless Worms were the friends we made along the way. 1 point game. GSG

That Wemby 3pt floater or whatever that’s was…. Amazing! I know he’s done it before but that looked really smooth this time

too bad for Harper last TO, it would have been nice to score on that last possession, like his aggressivity

Crisis averted...for now.
The team has been playing at different type of basketball for a couple of months now. It's been a good thing because it's allowed a lot of players to really integrate themselves. Now we are back to the base rotation. Things will be fine.
