Game Thread Spurs (2-0) vs Nets (0-2) (Sun 10/26/25) [1:00 PM CDT]

I wonder do we work on securing rebounds cause the Spurs have way more tip drill rebounds in their games than other basketball games I watch.

I watched Denver and Phoenix last night and the overwhelming majority of rebounds are just grabbed by somebody. Just grabbed with 2 hands like normal. But in Spurs games it seems like every 3rd or 4th rebound attempt is tipped multiple times. It's pretty shocking they have been an above average fast break team so far with them not being able to just secure rebounds at a consistent rate.

Wemby has played 17 straight minutes. He's gassed. It's normally 6 on/3 off rinse repeat. He's gassed, affects FTs. This is on fucking Mitch

More like the front office, who obviously knew Olynyk wasn't going to be ready to start the season and should have had a deep bench center with at least a live body, as opposed to the corpse of Biyombo.

Johnson did the right thing treating this game like a must win.

Spurs were down 5 when Harper came back in the 4th.

At the 5 min mark it was Spurs +3

Spurs win by 11

Looks like the tank crew is gone and the learning to close crew reported for duty.

Harper at PG with 20 pts on 73% shooting with 8 assists and 6 boards.

The young man has arrived.

Harper with 20 pts 8 asst 6 rbs and ZERO TO’s! Oh and 4/4 from the charity stripe. Very impressive for the rook. This cat is very composed & the future is bright…

He pulled Wemby at the 7:30 mark of the 3rd when we were up 26 and everything fell apart. He fucked up the rotation, and was forced to put him back in and play him the entire 4th quarter. He fucked up. He's young, I get it, but that was a major screw up looking forward to the b2b, trying to rest Vic, and not sticking to the normal game plan.

Harper is amazing. Such poise while handling the ball, efforts on defense, sticks to gameplan and is world class as a finisher. Now if the kid is even league average in shooting..he can threaten to be an All Star. Bright future ahead for this kid.

Wemby ha jugado 17 minutos seguidos. Está agotado. Normalmente son 6 minutos de juego y 3 de descanso, y así sucesivamente. Está agotado, afecta los tiros libres. Esto es culpa de Mitch.
And Biyombo

Harper gets this game ball. +33 How did we get the lottery luck for a player this smooth and NBA ready?
Mitch got a little too cute changing the rotation in the 3rd and pulling Wemby early.
Vassell continues to look like the player we have wanted him to be. KJ, too.

It's not that bad, it's early in the season and there's 26 hours until the tip-off.
I'd rather play a b2b at home than travel and play a day later.
Yeah, playing home makes it easier. They're after b2b as well if I remember.

I know ppl put Manu comps on Harper and I see that too but on fast breaks in the open court, Harper’s speed, ball handling and high rate of success finishing at the rim reminds me of Tony Parker
His ball handling is better than Parker rookie year

I get it, but whether then or 90 seconds later, he was still subbing out soon either way and they were still likely falling apart when he did.

Maybe Bassey wouldn't accept a non or partial guarantee (if so, weird he'd prefer G-League with Hawks, but I digress), but it'd be nice to have him right now.
