Game Thread Spurs (18-7) vs Wizards (4-20) (Thu 12/18/25) [7:00PM CDT]

Pels about to win in OT vs Rockets.
Man, Jabari or Bey would be so nice to have.
Ive wanted Jabari for a few years now. I think the only way we get him is if hes moved out as part of a Giannis deal, and Spurs later do a seperate deal for him. No way would HOU ever deal with us.

Barnes is now 0/16 from 3 the last 3 games... That's a problem tbh. They've all been wide open looks and his attempts aren't even close right now. Hopefully he busts out of this shooting slump sooner rather than later.
Tomorrow night would be a good time to start.

Dylan Harper man, this kids the best rookie outside of Wemby since what Duncan? Lmao. I mean this kid is way more polished and naturally basketball skilled than even TP was as rookie. And we’re not talking like Harper is some older rookie the kids 19 lol.
I want to add Steph in there too. He was pretty good as a rookie and had way worse talent around him. Steph had to step in and basically be the Spurs' second best player his rookie season. What Dylan's doing it great, but I feel like you gotta give Stephon props too as he came into a tough situation and had to help turn around the team's culture back to winning. I don't know why Steph keeps getting slighted. He's done a lot for the team and is a big part to putting us back towards winning again. He's a bigtime competitor and winning player.

Just checked in, Wemby only played 17 mins. Does this count?

you mean a healthy wembenyama? how did he have way worse talent lol, it's basically the same team

If the two-exception thing is true, this is the first game Wemby has played under 20 minutes. And only the second time he's played under 30 (OKC being the first)

Spurs are reaching the point of excellent balance on offense where we might see a lot of games where we don't have multiple, or maybe even a single, 20 point scorer but still look good on offense. This seemed to happen a lot in the glory days, and it's a good sign.

The start of the season, Victor was the only player on the team that played great. Then the Spurs got Fox after Castle had established himself as a legit player, and then both Victor and Fox went out. CP3 was OK at running the team, but wasn't much of a threat to score. He was still a good PG, but washed in every other category (scoring, defense). Devin, Keldon, all those guys weren't playing anywhere near as well as this season.

Castle has turned around the team's culture. Apart from Victor, he's played just as big of a part in getting the Spurs back to being a winning team. He's simply a winning player and has the attitude to do it. Has done it on every level and will do great things and more on the NBA level too.

Jabari has all the tools to be an incredible player... but the mental aspect. He's lacking what Castle has, that mental fortitude. I think Trey Murphy III has some of that.

He can do only 1 more game with less than 15' among the 65 total to be eligible.

(don't hurt yourself mate, he'll never do 65 games with how NBA system works, it's the medical team that decides, neither him nor Mitch and they're uber conservative, just a tiny boo-boo and he'll miss a week)

I'm fatigued by Fox's habits that contribute to losing basketball. He takes bad shots, dives at the defensive rebounder, putting his team at a disadvantage, and then routinely falls asleep on his man. I know the Spurs win, but there was a stretch where literally every basket the Wizards made was by the guy Fox left open. He's allowed to run the offense and he just doesn't see the floor well.

I didn’t watch the Wiz game but have definitely noticed Fox seems to fall asleep a lot on defense and loses his man ball watching. Frustrating habit.

Glad this team blew out the bad team like they should and the deeper part of the bench got extra minutes

Some Texas schools represented tonight:

Tre Johnson - Texas
Khris Middleton - Texas A & M
Sochan - Baylor

Dylan Harper baby! Just awesome to watch this guy slice to the rim and now also hitting the three
