Game Thread Spurs (17-7) vs Thunder (24-1) (Sat 12/13/25) [8:00PM CDT]

Finally we have a coach that goes to the foul strategy up 3 less than 10 seconds left. It was executed well and there was not much they could do about it.
nah we missed a couple FTs and couldn't inbound the ball at the end. They called a foul on Caruso, but could've easily been called a TO. I'd much rather take my chances with them shooting a 3 trying to tie it.

Famous last words.

75 pages and we are not even into the POs you guys are awesome

Just shows how much live interaction during games shitty ST servers took from us over the past few years.
Can't post during games if it takes 30 seconds for it to go through.

OKC a great team. OKC wins 60 something games with capable officiating, and people should zip it when thinking this is some coincidental merging of historical talent and not a bunch of twitchy weirdos who work officials like nobody ever has.

I’ll take the bulls and warriors in a game 7 thanks.

There was also a story about Wemby and his mom running into Chet and Chet brought up the U19 win, which was Wemby's worst basketball experience ever. Seems like Wemby might have taken this personally maybe. I think he mostly just wants to show the world he is in a different league from Holmgren and make sure Holmgren knows it too.
Pretty sure Holmgren has figured that out by now along with the rest of the world and especially OKC. We in their heads now, they might not sneak to any more titles on Wemby’s watch.

So, now we play the Knicks. Both of us are 18-7. The winner not only gets the Emirates Cup, but also the advantage in the league standings.
This game is #83 inan82 game season. Literally nothing counts. Stats don’t count, and it doesn’t affect the standings, at all.

I really want a win on Tuesday because while IST isn't that meaningful, it would be a nice trophy to have after all the years of awfulness.
Not to mention it's probably more difficult to win than the actual thing because of the early season and single elimination randomness.

I’d like to think that the Knicks game is just gravy after beating OKC. But maybe Im just riding the high from earlier.

Come game time, Id be stressed again. Still tho I dont think its a stretch that we’d all rather have the OKC win than Knicks cup final or not.

A trap game....can't let Towns and Brunson go nuclear

My quick analysis would be that we'll need more Wemby minutes because KAT will draw Kornet out and make it really difficult with for him with his range.
On the other end, the plan is obvious. Attack Brunson and KAT all game long to tire them out and force Brown to adjust.

We're one of the few teams Brunson can't be hidden against.
I don't care if he's one Devin, get Devin the ball and just make Brunson's life miserable. Put him in every action.

KAT can't defend the PNR and he's prone to making dumb fouls.
Robinson is the worst FT shooter ever, just intentionally foul him whenever he enters the game. 22% for the season, believe it or not.

If Devin/Champ/Barnes hit their shots, I don't see how the Knicks beat us.

Don’t forget that San Antonian and Wagner High School alum Jordan Clarkson always has huge games against his hometown team. Also OG may eat up our UNC. Dude is a Unit.

Next season we need a Barnes alternative. You could see last night that Mitch wanted to sub him out because he was cold, but he couldn’t since there was no better alternative.
PF is a clear need. If we had another true 3/D guy there our team would be complete.

Mitch also used Wemby, Castle, Fox, Vassell and Champ as the closing lineup in the 4th Quarter.

Usually it would be the starters (i.e. Barnes instead of Champ). Thought Mitch did the right thing since Barnes was cold

Bryant is projected to be just the type we need.
We'll see if he can develop. Hopefully Mitch keeps giving him regular minutes after the final.

Other than that, I don't see any realistic trades for a PF right now with Olynyk/Sochan/'26 FRP likely being our best offer.

Me neither. This is probably the team going forward, but I hope for a Sochan move every day.

Hope Mitch won't be shy to play CB over Sochan once the cup final end.
