Game Thread Spurs (17-7) vs Thunder (24-1) (Sat 12/13/25) [8:00PM CDT]

I can’t think of a pre-Christmas game that came with this much hype AND DELIVERED ever in my years watching the Spurs since 1988. And the Cup has a big role in that.

We respect the cup around here, as the Silver & Black Coffee Hour would say
I mean straight up I’m 45 years old. Been a huge NBA fan since the early 90s. And I can appreciate this without question. Too many old-school fans like myself just wanna shit on everything new school no matter how obviously entertaining it is.

The step that Wemby took this season is pretty fucking majestic. Imagine if Castle takes another major step next season.

Milk just shot out my nose at that hilarious Wemby Wilkes Booth comment, strangely, I wasn't even drinking milk.

Greatest win since 2014

Since the historic Game Six elimination of the joker fake goat James lol
We beat them in 5 that year, bruh.

The NBA cup is fun even with all the whiny pain in the ass haters still crapping on it. Feels like the NCAA tournament to an extent.
I wish they could figure it out so that the cup was for 2 straight uninterrupted weeks. I know the courts are supposed to help, but it still throws me off when a cup game is and when it’s not.

Extra spice for sure. I don't know what it is, but I fucking hate Chet. That's rare for me, never hated anyone on the Mavs/Suns/Lakers. I kinda love the rest of OKC.
But I want Charles Oakley to come out of retirement for one fucking game to change the idea Chet is "tough". That dude is a fucking bitch and only exists because no contact is allowed.
Wish Harper's (non-foul) spinning layup elbow had broken his nose. That dude fucking sucks. Just one game against any pre-2000 big, or Rasheed or Ben Wallace, KMart, fuck even Kurt Thomas. Just one game, so he realizes what a pussy, stick figure cunt he is. Fuck, even Caruso would bend him over. I want Wemby to make it a career goal to humiliate that (fake) guy.
How I feel about pretty much everyone on that bitch-made team.

SGA—manufactured “Star”, fairy, shit ass converse shoes

J-dub—cornball nickname, cornball attitude, looks and plays like a fat ugly lunchlady

Chet—oxtails and cornbread his favorite Thanksgiving meal need I say more.

Hartenstein—fake tough, wasn’t acting like this on the Knicks

Caruso and Dort—grouping them together as they’re basically the same player. Play like football players in open gym, most lenient whistle ever, Caruso is less-dirty than that POS Dort

J-will—cheerleader

Everyone else about as detestable.

Hoping daignault has some fucked up skeletons in the closet too, hope he gets exposed and crashes out like that Michigan coach.

Borderline unhealthy how much I despise these guys

I think Cup games were pretty much just on Fridays of each week. Until the final week leading up to the semis where they had a few Wednesday games.

Anyone noticed that Wemby was super vocal, attentive and calling out for his teammates on the defensive end today? Don't usually see this in his other games

Felt like shade of Draymond tbh.
Definitely. But looked like the whole team was more engagement and communicative on D. Noticed more hand signals and pointing than maybe any game all yr. They were def up for this game, but no one more than Vic.
Honestly this game reminded me a lot of the opener with Vic. Obvi different bc role, but he was up for it- here to prove himself- and there was an obvious lift in team intensity once he checked in. Hope he brings that energy/dynamic to every OKC (and Denver and Houston too please) game.

hahaha- as a bball fan a kinda love SGA like his game is beautiful, on both ends. Too many foul calls? Prolly, but otherwise, just beautiful basketball. JDub gets the sidekick love and I love a two-way player. Dort? Like come on, look at that dude, not an NBA player...them watch him play D. And hit the 3. Caruso? See Dort, except fuck have you seen that dude man-up on Joker? Like D up Joker as well as everyone in the league? Like totally fucked with probably the best offensive player in the history of the league being 1 foot shorter? Get every rebound, drive for every ball, give everything he can? That dude simply does not have NBA talent, but he's got enough grit and effort to make him a top20 (top5?) defender in this freak athletic NBA era. I can't hate that, I respect the shit out of it (and that grit is like 1/2 of the OKC team, I love D grit/effort/energy/wtf how did that guy guard like that)

Skip was a fake Spurs fan for years during the Tim/Tony/Manu era. Literally glazed them nonstop for 15 years. Now that Okc is good, he's jumped on their bandwagon and is now shitting on the Spurs :st-lol:. Fucking loser.

Actually what he said is true. Wemby should prove that he can sustain dominance and stop being fragile like a glass.

Caruso and Dort get away with murder man. Dort especially and he always falls haphazardly into other peoples’ legs. I remember Dort in college hoops too always played the same brand of rough barely-basketball that dares the refs to make a call. unwatchable imo

yes it’s wembys fault he got a blood clot and the spurs medical staff horrendously over-sat him for the lowest-grade calf strain

Harper was not that stellar this game, rookie jitters

he will be back in the Cup Finals, i guarantee it

I love this video!

Mostly the joy of the deep bench guys… a reminder that they are actually important parts of the team, not just when they have to fill in, but practicing with our main rotation players, pushing them everyday. That includes Jeremy.

Then he should demand to play like a boss or ala lebron. He shoukd stop riding on a shitty spurs cluture of load management. If ge want to be ghe best player in the world he should act like one on and off the court.

I understand what you’re saying to an extent because I’m in my 40s and I remember what it was like with the old school players. But today you just can’t do that. The organizations don’t allow it. You have to play ball with them with these injuries. That’s how it goes.
