News Official 2025-2026 Buyout Thread

If Spurs want to add a shooting wing/forward, options are very limited.

Niang is, on paper, the best option but he still hasn't played after a foot surgery last summer.

Aside Niang, Branham might be the best shooter available... Spurs could maybe find someone who has played/is playing overseas this season.

Idk man, 36 year-old Mason Plumlee is pretty damn washed too tbh. He's always been a low-IQ player but his size and athleticism has kept him afloat in the league. Now that the athleticism's gone he's a dud tbh.
Doesn't he have pretty sharp elbows and a nasty streak? Maybe the Spurs decided they might need to pick up a hammer and shield to protect Victor.

I thought this guys would have been a target for the Spurs. Believe there was interest in him in the past.
From what I remember he isn't a bad player but plays mostly on-ball and can't really shoot it, not the archetype Spurs should be investing on.

Sidy seems to have done really well for himself in Portland. Good for him

It sucks for Rayan Rupert. His rookie season was fine but his career has derailed after that.

I wouldn't be against Spurs signing him to a two way contract. Theoretically, he could be an useful 3&D role player.

Middleton would instantly be a top-priority target if he's bought out. But Spurs would have a ton of competition for his services tbh.

He's got no ankles left, Barnes looks good defensively compared to him.
I don't see where would his minutes come from in our rotation.
I'm not sitting down any of the young guys, even if it costs us some games. They have to learn.

Plenty of candidates come playoff time tbh (Champ, Barnes, Bryant, Devin).

And we wouldn't be bringing him in for his D. We'd be bringing him to give us 10-15 mins of a guy that can hit an open shot that could swing a game/series tbh.

Shooting should be this team's #1 concern heading into April-June. It's not even close IMO.

His 3pt shooting fell off after those injuries, I'm not convinced it's back just because of a few games.
He'd be an upgrade over McLaughlin and Waters, but I'm more concerned about our PF position in some matchups.

Fair but the looks he'd be getting here would be better than what he's been getting in Washington/Dallas.

He'd be by far the most impactful buyout candidate if he were to hit a pretty shitty market IMO. Certainly could see him contributing more than somebody like Plumdog tbh.
