News Official 2025-2026 Buyout Thread

I feel like the buyout market usually tends to get overhyped and overestimated. It's probably rare that there are buyout signings which really move the needle for teams.
I feel it is this way with most of the bigger talked about topics.

Trade all picks for x player.
X player picked up off buyout to put us over the top
No big players ever chose the spurs.
spurs dont make any trades.

Maybe the Bulls will sign Cole Anthony and roll out a 10 man rotation of guards.

I'm still mad we missed out on Corey Brewer in 2011. I think there was a good chance and then Mark Cuban opened up his checkbook...

Spurs please don't rush filling the roster spot, wait till the buyout market fully develops by March 1st.

Boucher or Niang would be my choice for the open spot. Boucher would help if healthy, as would Niang but both were waived for some underlying reason - and it wasn't for their overall lack of talent. (like Branham - good luck in China). Maybe pick up someone on a 10 day contract before actually deciding whom to sign for the rest of the season. Maybe someone else gets waived ...we'll see.

Serious question because I haven’t kept up: Does Boucher have any thing left in the tank?

I mean if we're in the business of keeping Biyombo around for moral support, I would consider having CP!3 on the bench if only to yell at our young guards. Dylan deserves it too.

CP3’s thing was always that he wanted to hoop. Don’t think he’d be interested in a deep bench mentoring role. If he were,he could have just stayed here instead of going back to the Clippers.

if he was leaving to go be a backup for the 0lippers anyway, may as well have been a backup here instead of McLaughlin

Meh, would have been too many personalities in the locker room at that point. Should have retired last year after he played all 82.

Can't deny that he had a positive impact on guys like Castle/Wemby/etc. that has helped this season but the asshole schtick becomes tiresome after a while especially when he's not a viable rotation player anymore.

No idea why the Clippers decided to sign him knowing full well how he is in the locker room to pair with two guys who probably couldn't give a single fuck about anything he had to say in Nephew and Harden :st-lol:
