"We have the technology to be 100% accurate with all of our calls, but instead we develop an elaborate system whereby you have to opt-in to using the technology, and eventually you just run out of opportunities to use the technology and just have to live with a flawed umpire's decision instead"

All sports leagues have decided to do this, and it's honestly kind of stupid.

Sad that some argue replay tech takes away from the spirit of the game.

Just adds to the idea that professional sports are rigged tbh.

Since the technology is essentially instantaneous, they should just put on a shock collar on the umpire that is programmed to give them a fun little jolt every time pitcher throws a strike.

1) This way the umpires can still be a part of the game.
2) It will finally make the umpires (partially)right for thinking that the fans are watching the game because of them.
3) Might make the pitchers more aggressive and lead to more action at the plate.
4) You get 99.9% of the calls right.

Win-win for all parties involved, tbh.

I've heard that and 100 disagree.
Should be about fairness. Can't get any more basic then that.

The new replay will be super fast, just like when we see it at home. Decisions have been being made in 13 seconds or LESS on the regular in the minor leagues.

Can you make the strength of the shock correlate with the speed of the pitch?

Some umpires need extra stregnth shocking.

In fact can that tech be brought to the NBA as well?

I'd kill for an MLB team in San Antonio. Really miss going to Dodgers games and the occasional Angels game too when I lived in LA.

If it ain't gonna be the Cubbies, then I would love to see one of Guardians/Mariners take the Chip.

Phew. Thought it was gonna be another no-show for the Cubs offense in the playoffs.

Challenging Suzuki with a belt high 94 straightball was a very bad move by Pivetta imo. No outs, 1b open. Zuki has been on fire.

Pads failure with runner on 3b and 0 outs combined with a later inning 3b 1 out was the Mo changer imo.

Booneovich pulls Fried for Weaver. :ROFLMAO:

Got to hear what Derek Jeters response is.

Looks like it was just a flash in the pan.
This offense from today is what I've come to except from the Cubbies in the playoffs.

Daddies came to play today! (I'm a Padres fan, but very casual... don't usually follow baseball until the playoffs start)

If anyone hears or reads in interview why on earth Shildt pulled Miller please post.

Great catch by Tats bailed Shildts and Suarez's asses out.

Surprised Zuki took the swing he did to end the game.

Shildt is as bad as Melvin tbh.

Doyers too good.
Might as well engrave their name on the trophy right now, tbh.

They might not lose a game this postseason tbh. Never got too invested this season because it's been obvious since last winter nobody was beating the Doyers in October and might not again until the MLB steps in. Just wait until they sign Kyle Tucker and Kyle Schwarber this offseason.

I mean, the Dodgers are far from a shoe in to win it all. He’ll, the Phillies looked amazing and outclassed the Dodgers during their last series this regular season.

Doyers have been sleepwalking through the regular season tbh. When they had to wake up to keep their hold on the division they dominated. That series against Philly could've easily gone the other way if Dave Roberts didn't fuck around and let Ohtani continue dealing (he had a no-hitter going). Phillies trailed in all three games until late iirc.
