Just starting this up to notify people of available thread prefixes to use. Thread prefixes can be added to the original post near the title, and help group up types of discussions and make them easily filterable and searchable, and also helps limit the amount of unnecessary addition of smaller dedicated forums.

They are not required and we don't plan to create one for everything, but here's what's on the docket. As we add more we may play around with the styling and update older threads, but TBD.

Note: You can edit old threads to add prefixes after they're added if you want

Available now:

Spurs Topics:
  • Game Thread - Game Threads for pre, live, and post game discussions
  • Player - Spurs player threads, discussions, and news for a specific current roster member
  • News - Spurs team news and discussion
  • Trade - Spurs Trade ideas, rumors, and news
  • Draft - Spurs Draft analysis, ideas, rumors, and news
  • Analysis - Spurs deep dive analysis, articles, videos, etc
  • Misc - Spurs miscellaneous chats
Ball Topics:
  • NBA - Anything NBA that is non-spurs related
  • College - Anything College Ball that is non-spurs related
  • Euro - Anything Euro Ball that is non-spurs related
Other Sports:
  • Sports - Generic Tag for any non bball related sports (NFL, MLB, World Cup, etc)

Thanks!

:vic-cheers:

I'm in favor of this, it helps bring order to the board and even spot interesting threads by just taking a glance. However, in that sense, I'll point that the bulk of threads would fall into the "Spurs, non game-threads" category, making them grey which sort of defeats the purpose. It would be useful to have some differentiated (by giving them another color), especially news, maybe draft (and trade if the suggestion in the following paragraph is not implemented).

Finally (nitpicking), a couple of observations (sorry, I can't help my OCD inclined brain): "News" significantly overlaps with a couple other tags, two that come to mind and bring confusion are "Trade" and "Player". IMO one work around to this could be redefining "Trade" as "Trade Ideas & Rumors" and let confirmed trades fall into "News" (the latter especially in a different color that's easy to spot)?

I think generally the most important differentiator for most people would be "information" vs "opinion", so having "trade news" line up with "news" tracks better with their interests. As for news / player overlap, leave small player news in their own thread, while big news (injuries, significant events) can have their own "news" thread.

Thank you for all the hard work, it's really paying off as the site is better and more functional than ever.

Thanks, but I think you might have me confused with someone else? I live in Bs. As. Argentina, and not really jamming. I'm not that interesting :st-lol:

Totally fair, I honestly just didn't have it in me to fiddle with colors today, but thought we'd get it going so ppl could tag stuff for now and we can edit the colors and look and feel later. Very easy to edit this.
Who's an artist would there that wants to pick a pretty color palette? LOL

Also happy to update the tag names, I tried keeping them short so it doesn't overwhelm the titles, but it's all very configurable.
