Welcome to Baseline Bums
This is a community for die-hard Spurs fans who live and breathe basketball. You'll also run into fans of other NBA teams—yes, even Rockets and Lakers fans. They're welcome too, even if their team choices are questionable.

This forum exists to talk hoops—Spurs or otherwise—which means passionate debates are inevitable. We don’t shy away from strong opinions, but to keep things fun and respectful, we have a few simple ground rules.

We’re not here to heavily moderate or babysit. This is a small community, and it works best when it polices itself. That said, we’ve seen what happens when things go unchecked—valuable posters leave, and the loudest, most obnoxious voices take over. I think I speak for the majority when I say we don’t want that to happen again.

So, if you can’t stop being a dick… we’ll help.

Ground Rules

1. No Pointless Politics or Religious Talks

Yes, politics and our belief systems affect our lives. Some light banter is fine. But if you're here to rage-bait or stir up divisive arguments, take it elsewhere. This is a sports forum, not a political or religious soapbox. If you want to debate politics and religion, there are countless other sites for that. Overall keep things on topic and don’t segue it into politics or religion for the purpose of being an edgelord.

2. No Links to Illegal Streams
Don’t post links to pirated streams. We’re just a few fans running a forum, not a legal defence team. We can't afford trouble, and we don’t want the site shut down.

3. No Hate Speech
Racism, homophobia, misogyny, etc.—not tolerated. Swearing and good-natured ribbing? Totally fine. However, there's a clear line between trash talk and personal attacks. If you're here to punch down, you're in the wrong place.

This same goes for your posts and viewpoints. You may have opinions on certain topics that are prejudiced against certain race, sexual orientation and genders, we are not here to change your mind, but don't force your warped world views on everybody else.

4. No Porn or Illegal Crap
I mean, do I have to explain this?

A Note on the Line (and Crossing It)

This isn’t a court of law. We don’t hand out demerits or follow a strict penalty chart. Some stuff that aren’t listed, but happened in the past, like making fun of dead kids or other incredibly tasteless behaviours will not be tolerated. If you’re constantly skirting the line or need repeated warnings, then maybe it's not the line that’s the problem. Nobody wants to moderate, nobody wants to ban anybody, but if it makes the forum a better place for everyone, then it will be done.

What Happens If You Crossed the Line?

We don’t want to get into heavy moderation—but here are how things might go:
  1. Friendly reminder (reply or PM).
  2. Public shaming (e.g., pinking you or changing your custom title).
  3. Thread-starting privileges revoked.
  4. Posting privileges suspended.
For more serious stuff and constant spamming, we may go to directly to step 3 or 4.

None of this is ideal. We’re here to talk basketball and have fun. So let’s keep things civil, and we’ll all get along just fine.

In short:
Disagree all you want—don’t be a jerk about it.

Cosign! Not as a forum moderator, but as someone who loves to immerse myself into Spurs fandom.

:st-flag:

Some people put quite a bit of their time, effort and money into providing a platform where we can continue discussing our favorite team, hopefully people appreciate it and just go by these simple guidelines that should be common sense, TBH.

I am all for the pinking of names, reminds me of the Joe Rogan Forums.
