Misc MISC Spurs 2025-26 Season Thread

Damn just checked the Reaves news. That’s awful for the Lakers.

LeBron has destroyed the Lakers season by opting into that option 😂. Took the $50M sat out for the first 20 games with sciatica and now has destroyed their chemistry and defense since coming back. Also forced Reaves to carry extra load while he was out.

Lakers were balling with just Luka and Reaves minus LeBron.

Look at those Luka-LeBron numbers 😂

Lebron is washed washed. Watch him still get an allstar nod

Lebum, KD and Curry are basically a lock for all star nod until they decided to retire tbh

Their lifetime achievement impact is just too great for the media and fans to reject them as all stars

devalues all-stars in legacy convos

Nephew dropping 45 pts in 3Q against league 2nd best record Detroit

Damn Nephew with 55.

Zubac going down may have forced dumbass Ty Lue to stumble into the fact that Zubac while a good player is not good enough to live with him clogging up the paint for Kawhi and Harden with the Clips mediocre shooting. Lopez being inserted and going 5-out seems to have opened things up. They’re defending better too.

That backup C Neiderhauser who they drafted in the first round is a legit 7 foot shot blocker and vertical spacer who can soak up 20 minutes behind Lopez. They should trade Zu before Feb he’s 29 in a few months his value is at its peak now and they need more depth at the guard and wing positions. Zu will be the 31-32 by the time Kawhi and Harden age out and he’ll be useless to the Clips by then.

Darn, Lopez taking off? Was one of my offseason targets and trade targets. Spacing the floor just like I thought he could for the young guys on this team.

Zubac is having a down year, it happens, but he was really good last year (and is exactly the kind of big who works very well together with Harden). Lopez still looks washed to me. I mean, he can barely move around on defense any more. That's not a player you would want having to rely on in the playoffs for any kind of meaningful minutes.

True, but you can't deny he doesn't space the floor and that opens it up for Harden and Kawhi more. Maybe there was something to the story of Chris Paul and the second units kicking the starters asses in practice. Lopez probably can't consistently bring it anymore, but if he could, as a player, he probably fits better with Harden and Kawhi.

Zubac was their arguably best player over the past year, it's just that his injury coincides with nephew finally getting into shape.

Not sure Joker will be out how long but doc's view is that he is more optimistic that it is not too serious and probably just out for 1 to 2 weeks.

Shit, what happened to him. I saw the game score that the Nuggets got blown out by the Heat, and now I know why. Doctor Brian Sutterer says hyper extension. Hopefully that is all it is and nothing further happened in that hyper extension.

I know it was unintentional but Joker got friendly fired by their 2 way guy is wild :st-lol:

That guy better get some witness protection assurance in Denver

Jokic out a minimum month (probably till All star break)..Spurs really need to stop fooling around: a clear path to 2nd-3rd seed bracket has opened for them.

Facing the absolute worst team in the efficiency landscape tonight... scares me.

After 35 games, we're sitting at a 25-10 record, with 47 games still ahead in the regular season.

If we're aiming for a 60-win season (and we should), we'd need to finish 35-12 from here on out, which is possible, if not probable.

More important than that is the coveted 50-win mark, a long-standing staple of excellence for the San Antonio Spurs throughout our history. It's a milestone we've all had in mind since our last 50-win season in 2017.

To reach 50 wins with this new generation, we'd "merely" need to go 25-22 over the remaining games. I won't pretend to predict the future, but barring catastrophe, that record feels very reachable right now.

Personally I'd love to break the 60-win threshold, but I'd be more than happy with a season between 55 and 60 wins, which would align with our current pace (requiring a 30-17 finish). That would almost certainly position us as a Top 4 seed in the Western Conference, if not Top 2.

Let’s just hope the Basketball Gods are kinder to us with player health the rest of the way.

Could have been up 3 games in loss column over Rockets/Denver if not for these stupid home losses vs Jazz/Blazers.

This team needs a long Wemby-healthy stretch now to consolidate that 2nd seed, tbh.

Meaning that we get a healthy Denver as a 2nd or 3rd seed when their teams gets healthy in time enough to win the play in game tbh :st-lol:

TBH, I would love to face Denver in this playoffs (though not until Rd 2). I think we match up fairly well against them, Wemby has always played well against them, and going down to them in 6 or 7 games (maybe even 5) I think would actually do this team a lot of good in the long run.

Don't want it to be in Rd 1 tho

Grizzlies 2-10 from 3 against the Suns after the 1st quarter.

After going 18-49 against that Spurs 3 point defense.

18-49 is 36.7%… average 3P% in the NBA this season is 36.0%

Why are we acting like the Grizzlies went bananas on us?
