was evident he was a difference maker as early as the season opener, when i charted AD shooting something like 1-5 against him form the field

edey did work him quite a bit for several easy jump hooks in a row. other than that he's been as advertised defensively. its been the boards where he's been weak lately.
I remember Edey pushing him around for some stretches but ultimately Luke and others did enough to contain and even frustrate Edey a bit. Luke was barely hanging in there at times v Zach but that was the task at hand and he did well enough to parry that part of the MEM game plan. (exploit Spurs inside via Edey)

Korndog fact I didn’t realize until today…

Luke’s dad, Frank, was drafted with a second round pick that we traded to MIL in the deal that brought Terry Cummings to San Antonio
Little unrelated, but also read that Al Horfords dad, Tito, was Frank Kornet’s teammate in Milwaukee. Of course their sons played together in Boston.

Would be interesting to see if there have been any other father/son teammate combos like this. I suspect we may see more in the future.

I found the Kornet T-shirts like Fox was rocking last night. Who knows if this is a legit site but I couldn’t help myself. 😂

The internet moves at a faster pace than the Spurs fan shop... here's another knock off.

I'll wait for the authentic version, myself.

The Spurs are actually some quite litigious mofo's (I've been C&D'd by them myself)... I'm not saying those aren't the shirts... I'm just saying I'm surprised they would give their guys unlicensed knock offs

I'm not that into making gifs, would be nice if someone could make a HD one because all the online gif tools require a premium subscription for that.

Had a buddy at the Rock tonight go to the gift shop and try to get a Kornet Vince Carter celly shirt, they told him it was a one-night exclusive at the arena... I feel like the Spurs could do a special edition drop of a Kornet-celly every game and make more money to not have to worry about selling SRPs anymore

He's 3rd in screen assists per game at 4.4, adding 10.3ppg.
Only Sabonis and Nurkic are better at 4.8 and 4.6, respectively.

He's also third in contested shots behind Clingan and Kalkbrenner at 10.6.

People were talking about Kornet's 3 point shooting in another thread:

Spurs are f#$ked without a decent 3rd string center if Luke is out for any time.

Luke Kornet has been a pleasant and reliable surprise with his ability to complete alley-oop plays seeming to exceed the abilities of some Spurs bigs of arguably greater overall talent who preceded him. He has been great. But he has been outmuscled by Zach Edey—the guy who conventional wisdom said was too slow for the NBA—in their direct matchups that I have followed. I am a bit surprised that I have not seen anyone mention that Edey was available in the 2024 NBA draft when the Spurs took Dillingham and then immediately traded him away. Edey was selected by Memphis with the next pick at a time when the Spurs desperately needed another center and before Kornet was signed. Was passing on Edey a blunder or would he have not been a good fit for the Spurs? I guess it is water under the bridge and does not matter at this point.
