People need to let the .Edey thing go.
Especially since he already has the injury bug in his second season, might become one of those stone footed useless >7’3’ guys. never gets the heat Victor does because it doesn’t get clicks

Luke Kornet has been a pleasant and reliable surprise with his ability to complete alley-oop plays seeming to exceed the abilities of some Spurs bigs of arguably greater overall talent who preceded him. He has been great. But he has been outmuscled by Zach Edey—the guy who conventional wisdom said was too slow for the NBA—in their direct matchups that I have followed. I am a bit surprised that I have not seen anyone mention that Edey was available in the 2024 NBA draft when the Spurs took Dillingham and then immediately traded him away. Edey was selected by Memphis with the next pick at a time when the Spurs desperately needed another center and before Kornet was signed. Was passing on Edey a blunder or would he have not been a good fit for the Spurs? I guess it is water under the bridge and does not matter at this point.

The Spurs didn't want him, so there is nothing that can really be done about it now. As other posters said, not sure if he could have worked with Victor and/or if teams would try and take advantage of him in the playoffs.

I wish we had another backup center/PF type that the team could rotate with Victor and Luke, and even be able play that 3rd guy with Vic and Luke. It really would help the team a lot if they can find someone.

I really like the name Cool Hand Luke too (I don't normally watch older movies, but I really liked that one. I should try and watch more old movies, or at least rewatch CHL). If Kornhub wasn't already the name, I would have liked to use that as his thread title's name (or at least incorporated into it).

Why are we tainting a beautiful Korndog thread with nonsense about Zach Edey?!?

Edey actually puts up decent on off metrics last and this year (whe he okayed) during rh regular season, had positive impacts in both offence and defence.

However, his playoff numbers were atrocious where he was a negative on both offence and defence. Granted it was against OKC and kudos to him that he helped the grizzlies get in the playoffs in the first place, but the fear of him being hunted with any game planning is sort of true and he’s useless against better teams. He’s almost like a new age Gobert in that regard.
