We are one coin flip away from Utah ending up 5th which would mean a 0.6% chance OKC gets another lotto pick……….

I continue to think they'll stick with mostly playing big wings at PF and focus more so on true C's, for insurance, to free up Wembanyama to play slightly more PF and eventually replace Kornet.

Agree, need to move away from the above described type of player with similar limited offensive skills like Sochan. That type of player doesn't work well with the core.

how so? it seems to me it will work better and better the more our core players become ball hogs through the years

Sochan was a SF defensively and a non spacing center offensively. That’s why it didn’t work. If he could either shoot or if he could provide rim protection his outlook would have been different

Cenac could do some of each. But he is raw

he should have been a mobile pf , pick and roll guy offensively, and a best player available except center defensively.. somehow mitch got it to mean shoot triples and guard embiid

If Atlanta beats Miami in the final game we're picking #20, otherwise with a win Toronto or Orlando can catch them and a coin flip will decide. The good news is 1) Miami may have a reason to compete, since a win from them and a Charlotte loss would give them the 9th seed (thus HCA) in the first play-in game. 2) Toronto and Orlando must win to ensure they get into the playoffs outright; Toronto plays tanking Brooklyn (and they want to lose to try and catch Indiana) while Orlando plays Boston who are set at 2 so they may rest everybody. So at least there's a chance it's 18 or 19 I guess.

Atlanta is one game ahead of Toronto and Orlando but they're sitting everyone vs Miami, as is Boston vs Toronto, while Brooklyn is tanking, so Toronto and Orlando are playing for their lives and might end up all with 46 wins and the pick being decided by a random draw anywhere in 18-20 range.
 
Very surprised Atl punting this game with Heat playering all their starter. Boston's sitting everyone, Orl starting everyone. Raptors playing everyone against a terrible Nets team.
Best case scenario here is likely, push Atl to 6th and have coin flips for pick (assuming Orl makes POs).

Halftime edit: Everyone up 9.

Makes me wonder if ATL would rather play the Knicks than the Cavs. Only 1-2 against Knicks this yr but 2 loses by 6 combined points.
 
19th pick it is. Not 29 but 19. Last time we had 19, we picked Luka Samanic. Hopefully we don't make that kinda mistake again.
 
This draft has a lot of talent in that strong "supporting cast" level. I'm optimistic the Spurs are going to have a gem fall to them. At this point the Spurs don't need to draft a guy they're going to need to empty the bank for after his rookie contract ends, just someone who can strengthen the rotations. This turned out fine.

It's kind of interesting that none of the teams with the best odds should be tanking next season.
Wizards got Trae and AD.
Pacers got Zubac and Haliburton will return.
Nets don't own their pick.
Jazz are already good and had to do a disgusting amount of tanking this season.

Hopefully the East can get some star power, it's way too imbalanced right now.

The Mavs also lost their coin flip to the Hawks. So ATL will have the 7th Pick instead of the 8th.
