Raptors have a nice lead against Miami as they approach halftime. toronto has the tiebreak over ATL and can bump the pick up from 20 to 19

The tiebreaker has no bearing on the pick, not directly at least. If they both get to the playoffs with the same record, the pick will be decided by a coin flip.

If Atlanta loses both, for them to go to the play-in at least 2 of the following must happen:
  1. Orlando wins its 2 remaining games
  2. Philly wins its 3 remaining games
  3. Toronto wins at least 2 out of its 3 remaining games.
I guess there's also a convoluted scenario where only 1) is met but Charlotte wins out, and since Orlando would have the Division title with 46 wins and Charlotte would have the tiebreaker over Atlanta, they'd push them to the play-in... uh... my head hurts.
Philly looks like they're on their way to a loss against Houston today, so we need #1 and #3 (Raptors are currently ahead of Miami)

It should be noted that, even if Philly wouldn't be able to push Atlanta to the play-in if they lose today, they could theoretically improve the Atlanta pick. For this Philly have to win their remaining 2 games (outside of Houston) tying Atlanta's record, and then beat them on a coin-toss (as long as Philly made the playoffs via the play-in). Many different scenarios, but IMO the most difficult part here is getting Atlanta to lose both games, especially the last one to Miami.

looks like Cavs are resting Mitchell and Allen tomorrow against the Hawks. Disappointing but not unexpected.

Hopefullly Harden and Mobley play.

Correct me if I’m wrong it will be basically impossible for Atlanta to fall into the play in if they beat the Cavs tomorrow.

If results hold (Toronto up by 21 with 6 to go in the 4th, Philly down by 17 at the half), with 2 games left for everyone:

Yup. Atlanta would have 46 wins, and only Toronto (max 47 wins) and Orlando (max 46 wins) could catch them. The key factor here is that Atlanta has the better head to head record vs Orlando which means they'd also win their division, and since division winner is the tiebraeker in a 3 way tie (and neither Toronto nor Orlando would have won theirs, so Atlanta would get the 5th seed) and head to head is the tie breaker in a 2 way tie (vs Orlando, in which case they'd end up 6th in the East), they'd make the playoffs in either case.

Those add to the tragedy of his career, but point taken. Looks like he’s averaged around 55 games played per season since the first 2. What’s that, about 65%?
It's bad, but not as bad once you take it into account. Point also taken to include the first two season that adds to it - that's a good point too. A middle ground of just subtracting that first season is probably fair as Philly knew he's miss that first season and they were OK with it. However, after that first season it hasn't worked out for them, so I guess you should add that second season to the games missed list.

Gonna be funny when BWrong just trades the pick tbh :st-lol:
Ya know, even though there will be players i like when we pick, trading it for a couple first down the road or a lower first in this draft plus a future first isnt a bad move with the roster we have.
I like Mo's scenario better than just keeping and using the pick.

Not gonna lie, I’m gonna be a bigger Cavs fan today than Spurs fan
